8th Annual Easter Festival, Treasure Hunt & Brunch

The Orange County Market Place is hosting their 8th Annual Easter Festival this weekend!

When: Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Where: Orange County Market Place, the weekend swap meet at the O.C. Fair & Event Center, 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa. The Easter Festival is held in conjunction with the regular swap meet activities which operate from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Market Place is closed Easter Sunday, April 20.

Cost: Admission to the Orange County Market Place is free for kids 12 and under, and $2 for ages 13 years and above. Free parking is available as well as preferred parking for $5.

Highlights :
Gourmet Food Truck Easter Brunch: 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Seven trucks serving up a variety of brunch items including breakfast burritos, scrambled egg quesadillas, acai bowls, grilled sticky buns, huevos rancheros fries, toasted slider rolls,a variety of egg dishes and much more.

Among the specialties are the “One Eye Jack” prepared by BaconMania, which is a thick slice of Texas toast with a fried egg in the middle and crisped up with cheese, the “Plain Jane” by Crepes Bonaparte which includes crisp slices of bacon, ham, cheddar cheese and a fresh cracked egg and Brioche French Toast and the” Ultimate Breakfast Sammie” by the Tailgate Truck which is a Brioche bun, crispy pork belly, mixed baby greens and a sunny side up egg.

The Kala Truck, Barcelona on the Go, Calbi BBQ and Bowl of Heaven will also be offering a variety of breakfast fare.

Treasure Hunt: Begins at 10 a.m. and includes several vendors offering candy and prizes while designated Market Place food concessions will be sites for retrieving plastic eggs filled with goodies, with 10 of them stuffed with a golden ticket. Recipients of the golden ticket receive a giant Easter basket. In addition, the first 500 kids in line for the treasure hunt will receive a free Easter bunny plush toy.

Children are encouraged to bring their Easter baskets for the treasure hunt, however free hunt bags will also be on hand if needed, along with a map to help guide the golden ticket seekers through the Market Place.

Easter Bunny: Bring your camera and take free photos with the Easter Bunny from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. A variety of themed photo stations will also be available.

Springtime Puppet Parade Show: Free shows at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. presented by Franklin Haynes Marionettes.

Other activities: Free face painting, strolling entertainment and a spring themed mural coloring project
