A Special Pen for my Superhero

Captain America Cross Pen

My love affair with pens started many years ago, when I was 11 years old. My father gave me my first pen set that was not disposable. It was a Cross pen and pencil silver set that he had gotten me for my birthday. I loved that set so much, it took me several months to just take it out of the box.

But I used it on daily basis (at home), as I was too afraid to take it to school. At the time, my father presented the pen set to me, he explained that my grandfather had also given him his first nice pen set when he was 11. Apparently this was some sort of a family tradition.

The pen gifts did not stop when I passed the age of 11; they reappeared when I graduated from High School (one set from my dad and another from my grandfather). Then another set when I graduated from college. I have treasured them all (and luckily they are the nice kind so I can replace the ink).

Checking out the new Marvel Cross Pen

My son turned 11 this year, so I was going to bestow upon him the family tradition of gifts. But how do I excite an 11 year old with a pen who has a laptop and an iPad?

My son is at an age that he eats, breathes and lives super heroes. I want to teach him about the fine art of pens and how writing letters and thank you notes mean so much when they are done by hand versus an email.

Marvel Cross Pen

I found my answer with the new Super Hero pens from Cross. CROSS Pens gave me the opportunity to try out Cross Marvel Century Captain America Pen and I’m beyond excited to share it with you.

There are actually three designs available: Captain America, Iron Man and Spider Man. While it was hard to choose one for myself, it was an easy choice for my son. The Captain America designed pen is in blue (as expected) with a nice Captain America Insignia.

Using the Marvel Cross Pen on a tablet

As you as see by my pictures, my son lives and breathes Captain America. When I handed my son his present, he was ecstatic to get his own pen, his own Captain America Cross pen. He had heard the stories, and he finally has become part of the family tradition.

But what was more joyful to watch was when he took out the pen and began his first letter to his grandfather to tell him about his new pen. The Marvel Captain America pens are the perfect gift for your child or for your favorite dad on Father’s Day.
