a2 Milk vs. Traditional Milk

“This post was sponsored by a2 Milk® as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. I received complimentary products to facilitate my review.”

My son has suffered from severe food allergies for most of his life. While we have hoped that he would outgrow his food allergies, unfortunately, at the age of thirteen, he still cannot tolerate many foods. Milk has always been one of the few foods that are not one of his allergies, but it always gives him digestive discomfort, so he often avoids drinking it.

Having a child with food sensitivities, I am always looking for new foods to try. When I first learned about a2 Milk®, I was curious about how it is different from traditional milk. a2 Milk® is pure farm fresh milk, comes from heirloom a2 cows, and lacks the A1 protein that is the cause of many post-dairy digestive discomfort issues.

Since my son has been avoiding milk due to digestive comfort, I am constantly challenged with providing him with his daily dose of calcium. He is also a vegetarian and often lacks enough protein in his daily diet. I learned that a2 Milk® might be the solution to his calcium deficiency because it has approximately 6x the amount of calcium as soy beverages, and approximately 8x the protein of almond beverages.

I am thrilled to be an a2 Milk® Ambassador, and will begin replacing the traditional milk in my household with a2 Milk®. I am going to start doing food challenges with my son over the next couple of months to see if a2 Milk® will lessen the digestive discomfort that traditional milk gives him. If you have a family member who is one of the 1 in 4 Americans that have discomfort after drinking milk, then I encourage you to follow my journey testing the a2 Milk®. I am going to be blogging about my experience with a2 Milk®, and invite you to follow along. Join the conversation with me on social media with the #a2milk hashtag.
