The new community of Rancho Mission Viejo, located off Ortega Hwy and Antonio, between the communities of Ladera Ranch and San Juan Capistrano, has sprung up quickly with lots to offer and even more construction on the way. One of the highlights of this new community is the Adventure Play Park located on Sendero Field.

Due to the severe drought in California, Rancho Mission Viejo has been doing their part in conservation and the Sendero Fields, like most fields in the area, look pretty brown this Fall. We imagine this park, full of natural beauty already, will be even more stunning with lush green fields in the years to come. It is also sure to have great shade when all the sapling trees dotted throughout mature to full growth.

My kids’ personal favorite parts of this park were the sprawling fields to explore, the climbing structures (everyone was nice and tuckered out after our visit – yay!), and the quadruple slide hill (perfect for slide races). My little guy, who just turned one and is obsessed with trucks, could not get enough of the view from the swings facing Antonio; with lots of construction taking place in the community and the dump located not far away, every truck imaginable passed by on Antonio and was in perfect view.  He could have sat there for hours on end!

Adventure Play Park at Sendero Field is located at:
29669-, 29851 Ortega Hwy
San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675.

Direction tip: Off Ortega Hwy, look for the Sendero Field sign. If entering from Ortega Hwy going towards the freeway, the entrance is easily accessible on the right hand side; If entering from Ortega Hwy going away from the freeway, the entrance is on the left side and there is no left turn.  There is also no U-turn at the next light, which is Antonio. The best bet is to make a U-turn at the second light past the field, one light past Antonio.
