Aquarium of the Pacific and Denny’s Day Out
We visited as a guest of the venue
If you haven’t been to the Aquarium of the Pacific now is the perfect to go! From now through April 30th, participating Denny’s locations are offering a discount to the Aquarium of the Pacific. The coupon is valid for a FREE child’s admission (ages 3-11) with the purchase of a full-price adult admission.
My daughter and I enjoyed heading to the Aquarium of the Pacific for a fun day of exploring the creatures of the sea after having lunch at our local Denny’s. While at Denny’s my daughter enjoyed the delicious kid offerings while I had my favorite sandwich in the relaxed family-friendly dining environment.
The Aquarium of the Pacific has so many amazing exhibits for children to explore. The thing that is so nice is that there are several opportunities for the kids to get up close and personal with the animals.
At Shark Lagoon, guests are allowed to touch Bamboo and Epaulette sharks and even cow-nosed stingrays, just be sure you are using the 2-finger touch rule. Watching my daughter and other children giggle and squeal when they touch one of these beautiful animals is pure joy! There is a large viewing window where you can see giant sharks ranging from whitetip reef sharks, zebra and sand tiger sharks.
Next travel over to the Lorikeet Forest where you can have these beautiful birds land on your hand, arms or even heads, as long as you have a cup of their favorite treats, nectar! A small cup can be purchased before you enter. It is a beautiful outdoor aviary that transports you to a lush garden and even has a waterfall.
One of our favorite exhibits is the Jellies! These animals are so unique and different and crucial to the ocean. They serve as a food source for many fish and sea turtles. Some of our favorite types of Jellies are the Indonesian Sea Nettle, Egg Yolk Jelly, and the adorable Umbrella Jelly. These little guys light up and are so cute!
The Sea Otter Habitat is always sure to delight both young and old. These animals remind me of dogs that can swim. They have so much personality and act like kids always at play.
The Aquarium of the Pacific was founded in 1998 and is a non-profit organization that is involved in conservation efforts, including ocean literacy, sustainable seafood and much more.
The Aquarium of the Pacific is an excellent way to spend the day and is even open some evenings, (please check the calendar on the Aquariums website for times). Head on over to a participating Denny’s Restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner and pick up your discount coupon for The Aquarium of the Pacific. The Aquarium of the Pacific is located at 100 Aquarium Way, Long Beach, CA.
