Posted by on Jul 9, 2013 in Family, Giveaways, Toys | 15 comments

Brand new from Explorers’ Playground come the Horndribbles, special monsters from the imagination of Herbert Joel! Ten years ago, he imagined a wacky, fun, and special world full of monsters that he called “Horndribbles.” In order to bring this imaginary world a reality, Herbert began hand-sewing plush Horndribbles. At first, he made just a few dozen, which he gave to his family and friends. Their popularity inspired him to sew several hundred more Horndribbles for sale at local art shows. Today, it is his great honor to share with you these special monsters and the adventures that go with them!   We received Zapp, and my daughter has not put him down since! She loves to snuggle him and has nicknamed him “horn-sharp.”   My kids, 10 and 4 both love the book, Zapp and Oogah-Oogah Nut! Adventures of...

Brand new from Goliath Games is Gooey Louie, a game that will keep your kids giggling! You have probably heard (and said) the phrase “you can pick your nose, you can pick your friends, but you can’t pick your friend’s nose” but Gooey Louie, a new game by Goliath wants to change that. Yes, it’s true! Gooey Louie is a real game made by the same company that brought you Doggie Doo and Pop the Pig. It’s also true that it’s a game where you take turns picking  green gooey things out of Louie’s nose. My kids couldn’t wait to put Gooey Louie together and get those gooeys! Each player takes a turn rolling the die to see how many gooeys they need to pick out of Louie’s nose, until someone picks the special gooey that will make his eyes pop and...

A Closer Look at Shelf Stable Milk for National Dairy Month

Posted by on Jun 12, 2013 in Family | 1 comment

June is Dairy Month…serving for more than 70 years as a reminder of the importance of getting more protein- and calcium-rich dairy products into the family’s diet – especially for children. But parents often wonder how to do that when they’re on the go, since dairy products need to remain chilled. Shelf stable milk is Grade A fluid milk that requires no refrigeration until the package is opened, thanks to ultra pasteurization and special Tetra Pak cartons that preserve all the wholesome goodness of milk. Now kids can get the vitamins and nutrients of milk anytime, anywhere! The unique combination of pasteurizing milk at an ultra high temperature (UHT), and then packaging it in a Tetra Pak carton, results in milk that is shelf safe. Ultra-pasteurization eliminates bacteria and Tetra Pak carton packaging keeps out light, air and harmful...

I love names. I really love to dream up baby names! So I love to do crafts that are centered around the names I picked for my own two precious babies and am sharing one of my favorites, a button letter craft project! Michael’s has a wide variety of letters, big and small, white and plain wood! I chose a large white letter and a darling variety pack of buttons in a bag, including flowers, hearts, jewels and fairytale carriages. This letter is great because it has the option to prop it up or hang it on the wall. I love a craft that costs under ten dollars! Don’t forget to use your coupon! I laid out the buttons and chose my favorites. I started laying them on my letter and hot-gluing them on as they fit. This is...
