Did Someone say Doughnut? Voodoo Doughnuts Opens in Los Angeles

Posted by on Jun 2, 2017 in Dining, Universal Studios Hollywood | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Today, June 2nd is National Doughnut Day. But down at Universal City Walk, Doughnut Day is EVERYDAY!! Just adjacent to Universal Studios Hollywood, Voodoo Doughnuts has just opened and is filled with some of the most fabulous doughnuts you have ever tasted, and seen. This new little shop fits right on the walk with its vibrant colors, original doughnuts and its giant Voodoo doll doughnut statue standing nearly 12 feet tall in front. The statue, of course, was my girls’ favorite part, mostly because they have a matching doughnut that is a replica of the giant one standing outside the store. As guests of Voodoo Doughnuts, we were able to sneak some tastes of the amazing doughnuts that filled the store with its aroma. Elle grabbed the most colorful sprinkled cake...

We attended as a guest of the venue When we think of Hollywood, most of us think of the hustle and bustle down the busy streets of Hollywood Blvd. where characters line the streets and bumper to bumper cars light up the sky. But, nestled on 925 N. La Brea Avenue you’ll find Burke Williams, the ultimate place to relax! With an old school Hollywood feel Burke Williams creates a space that is both quaint and glamorous. Filled with an array of treatments that can allow you to escape the rush of your day, they have the perfect treatment for the tired tourist, the busy 9 to 5’er and the overworked Mom. If you don’t have time for a long treatment, the conservatory offers just the place for a mini treatment. Found in the conservatory, hot stones are used...

We attended as a guest of 20th Century Fox The highly anticipated time has come for Tim Burton to release his newest masterpiece to the world, “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children” on September 30th. In celebration of the release of the new film, our family was invited to a very peculiar Tim Burton fan event where he would get his hand/foot print done at the TCL Chinese Theatre. As we arrived, fans were lined up along the street awaiting a chance to catch a glimpse of their favorite filmmaker. An extensive list of high-profile celebrities came out to celebrate the event with Tim Burton including Winona Ryder. It was an event to remember forever, and following the ceremony, we were treated to an advance screening of the movie. Since I don’t want to ruin any of the details...

Cool off with the new Ice Age: Collision Course

Posted by on Jul 22, 2016 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

That pesky squirrel Scrat is at it again, and his quest for his precious acorn jeopardizes the lives of Manny and the rest of his Ice Age Family. His unknowingly cosmic damage he is creating for the love of his acorn puts all on Earth, including the beloved wooly mammoths and their friends all at risk. For those of you new to the Ice Age films you will find humor with a touch of the traditional family moral embedded within the story. Adults and children of all age ( and when I mean all ages I’m talking about even my 2-year-old) will love every minute. Without giving too much of the movie away, Manny (the voice of Ray Romano) and his wife Ellie (the voice of Queen Latifah) are preparing their daughter Peaches for her upcoming marriage to...

Zoolapalooza ‘Zootopia’ Fun at the El Capitan Theatre

Posted by on Mar 5, 2016 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

Taking my kids to the movies is one of my most favorite things in the world to do. It’s the smell of the popcorn, the excitement to see the big screen, and most of all, watching their little faces light up when they see a movie that makes them giggle or squeal with excitement. While taking them to any local theatre is fun, when I want to make a special night of it I love to take them to El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. Before you even reach the theatre, there are street performers on every corner, providing entertainment for families everywhere you look. As you reach the theatre with its bright shining lights and grand entrance, you feel like you’ve been transported back to the way a true theatre used to be. Originally built back in 1926,...
