You’re Invited: A Christmas Chalk Walk

  The chalk artwork of over 150 artists will decorate the parking stalls at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) in Aliso Viejo this weekend. “A Christmas Chalk Walk” is a free community event on December 15, 16 and 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. The public is invited to enjoy drawings of snowmen, Nativity scenes, Santa and other Christmas-themed artwork by professionals and amateurs of all ages. Live music, free hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls and a Nativity scene featuring local high school students are all part of the celebration. “The artists have such a passion for doing this,” says Kristen Kamerman, director of activities for the LDS Church Laguna Niguel Stake. “They find joy in sharing their talent. “Some finish in one day and some stretch it out,” says Kamerman. Journey School’s 10th Annual Harvest Faire

  Archery, jousting and fable figure making are just a few of the activities offered at Journey School’s 10th annual Harvest Faire on November 5th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children can make their own fairy wands, walking sticks and jump ropes. “It’s an old-fashioned harvest faire,” says Nicola Wellner, chairperson of the event. “And the materials are as natural as possible.” Admission is free and tickets may be purchased for activities and food. The Fairy Café offers traditional, vegan and gluten-free baked goods along with coffee and tea. An international selection of food, including curry sausage, falafels, and tacos will be available at three food trucks.
