Bacon Lovers Unite at Big Bite Bacon Fest
We attended as a guest
Bacon lovers from across the Southland came together last weekend at The Queen Mary for the 2nd Annual Big Bite Bacon Fest. From fried bacon Twinkies to bacon filled macaroni and cheese, the two-day event featured over 8,000 lbs. of bacon creations.
Not only did festival-goers get porked on bacon, but they also helped to raise $10,000 for America’s Veterans with Charity Partner Team Red, White, and Blue. The non-profit helps to enrich the lives of America’s veterans with physical and social activities.
The bacon creations came from more than 50 different local chefs and restaurants who offered bacon-inspired breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and drink samples during the event. While guests were tantalizing their taste buds, music filled the air. It wasn’t all about eating at the festival as guests were invited to play interactive games like the Pork Ladder Toss, Bacon Bags, Bacon Bungee Run and Bacon Maze.
Our family attended the event as VIP bacon fans that included early access, private bacon tasting area, and souvenirs. Our kids “got their bacon on” and had endless fun at the festival. The Queen Mary hosts many fun family events just like the Big Bite Bacon Festival throughout the year, and they are all guaranteed to create memories that your family will cherish forever.
