Barcelona Park in Mission Viejo

bar8

My kids have spent countless hours playing at this park that neighbors their elementary school. I still can’t believe that I haven’t shared the details about all the fun for children to have at Barcelona Park in Mission Viejo. The park is small but special and has everything your kids need for a day full of fun – especially for little ones who like lots of open space to run around.

There are two play structures featuring one for older children and one for toddlers, and both are surrounded with lots of sand. Around the play structures are plenty of benches and picnic benches for parents who want to bring a picnic lunch along to the park. There are also lots of trees providing plenty of shade, especially on those hot Summer afternoons.

With the park neighboring a local elementary school the neighboring soccer fields are closed during school hours, but open for children to run and play when school is not in session. When coming to the park during off-school hours then I recommend bringing balls for your kids to use on the field that backs the park.

Details..details..
The park does not have public bathrooms.
There is a drinking fountain and plenty of shade from trees.
I recommend bringing bikes (for the small path), balls, sand toys, and lunch.

Location…location.
The park is located at the corner of Via Santa Maria and Via Tercero in Mission Viejo. The park is not visible from the street, so I recommend parking at the corner and then walking up the long ramp to discover this special little park in Mission Viejo.
