Breakfast with a View at Las Brisas
We dined as a guest of the venue
If you’ve been following us on social media, then you are aware of how we’ve become very fond of the new menu items at Las Brisas. While staying loyal to favorite traditional dishes here, we love to explore the new entrées that are being introduced to complement their menu.
One recent morning we were invited to dine and enjoy a fantastic breakfast at Las Brisas. What’s better than Las Brisas on a beautiful, bright, crisp morning after a fresh rain the night before? Seated inside with a gorgeous view of the ocean, we were grateful for the opportunity to slow down for a bit during the holidays to share time and an excellent meal together.
If you’ve been to Las Brisas, you know the views are stunning! Chef Johannes continues to create dishes that keep us coming back for more; with traditional and innovative plates of delicious goodness. We’ve had serious withdrawals thinking about our favorites; always prompting another visit.
It was our first experience dining at Las Brisas for breakfast, so we were excited to explore the menu, especially since breakfast is pretty simple at our house most of the time. Now, what we weren’t expecting; our humble, energetic servers Dante and Ricardo! These two are fantastic and made our visit more memorable and special! Both are originally from Acapulco and have been familiar faces at Las Brisas for years. You’ll find them to be intuitive; having the ability to read their guests to determine the level of interaction; fun and outgoing do they need to be more reserved and quiet for the guest. They read us well and began sharing with us stories of home, moments at the restaurant and snapshots of their lives. Las Brisas is like a second home to them, so they are incredibly knowledgeable about food, drinks, environment of the restaurant that just adds to your experience; we loved the interaction and all the laughter we shared.
Now for the food! One of our favorite dishes we enjoyed was a good Chilaquiles and while its familiar, the Las Brisas version came with a braised short rib too! Imagine, crispy corn tortilla chips covered in guajillo sauce with free range sunny side up eggs on top, with a tender braised short rib, then sprinkled with cotija cheese and pico de gallo. Mmm, delicious! Good thing we were sharing so we could try more, as they give you generous servings.
If you enjoy Eggs Benedict, you must try the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. It’s divine! It arrives stacked with a perfectly seared crab cake, free range poached eggs atop an english muffin with just the right amount of hollandaise sauce. If you have a thing for Eggs Benedict and Crab Cakes; this will please you. We also love that you get the option of breakfast potatoes, fruit or a salad. We chose the salad, and it was crisp, simple; a perfect add to the entree for us.
Who’s got a sweet tooth? If so, don’t even hesitate for a moment; you must order a Cinnamon Roll. There were four of us, so we shared it since it’s kind of the size of the plate. Just order it! A warm, Cinnamon Roll with just the right amount of cream cheese frosting and pecan sauce arrives; as you cut into the cinnamon roll, your mouth begins to water, and with the first bite you taste how perfect it is. It’s not too sweet and has a lovely combination of flavors! Even the non-sweet eaters couldn’t get enough of it.
We found a great selection of dishes to choose from for breakfast; Las Brisas Seafood Omelet, Filet and Eggs, Breakfast Tacos and of course, the traditional Bacon and Eggs. These are just a few so make sure to look at the larger selection online too.
The next time you are looking for a new breakfast to try, we strongly suggest that you visit Las Brisas! You’ll get to enjoy a great meal while you take in the ocean view either inside behind the giant picture windows or on the patio and make sure you ask for Dante or Ricardo too! We think you’ll have a fun time and we’re sure you’ll be ready to mark the calendar for a return visit, like us.
