A Behind the Scenes Look at Marvel Universe Live!

Posted by on Jul 21, 2017 in Disney, Entertainment, Events, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Yesterday my children and I were given the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the all new Marvel Universe Live! Age of Heroes live action show at the Honda Center.  My son is a huge Marvel fan and was excited to see how the team makes the magic come alive. We were greeted by the stunt superhero team which gave us a demonstration on how they perform their moves.  Fight 101 wasn’t just hands on; it was also about mind control.  Ten hours of training daily is how this team makes sure that they are not only safe but also on point.  The show is action packed with so many moving parts, being in sync with one another is what is need to make the show a success and to keep...

DIY Spider-Man Homecoming DisneyBounding

Posted by on Jul 6, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

Sponsored One of my daughter’s favorite ways to spend the day at the Disneyland Resort is to Disney Bound her favorite Disney characters. What is DisneyBounding? It is where you take regular clothes that look like a Disney character, and is an excellent way to unleash your fashion creativity. While I was in New York City for the Spider-Man Homecoming press event, I was given a fun challenge of creating a Spider-Man Homecoming themed costume using clothes purchased from the local Goodwill. The biggest part of the challenge was that I was in a smaller Goodwill store with about 20 other bloggers on the same mission, and we couldn’t spend more than $25, and only had 20 minutes to find items to create a costume. I knew that I wanted to create DisneyBounding costume for my daughter, but I...

Spider-Man Homecoming Cast Feel Like They are Living a Dream

Posted by on Jul 4, 2017 in Entertainment, Featured, Film | 0 comments

I attended the press conference as a guest of Sony It felt like a dream. I flew to New York City last week, and within hours of my arrival, I was given the amazing opportunity to be one of the first to see Spider-Man Homecoming. The next morning, I woke up in my hotel room and had to pinch myself because I couldn’t believe that I was going to meet the cast of Spider-Man Homecoming later that morning. I wasn’t the only one who felt like I was living a dream come true, but the cast also felt the same way about being a part of the best Marvel film ever made, Spider-Man Homecoming. The film all started with lunch between Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal. “I can’t believe we are here now. It is pretty exciting,” said Pascal....

Messy Minions Candy Bark Recipe

Posted by on Jul 3, 2017 in Crafts, Entertainment, Family, Film, Recipes | 0 comments

This post is in partnership with Bounty. Minions..Minions..Minions! My kids and I love everything about the minions. The first time that we were introduced to them in the first Despicable Me, we fell in love with them. My kids have minion clothes, hats, and everything minion. When I learned that Bounty was introducing Despicable Me 3 prints on their paper towels and napkins, I immediately knew that I needed to get some for my kitchen. Having three busy kids in my household, we’re always making messes or spilling things in my kitchen. That is why I need a paper towel that is strong enough to clean-up the biggest messes while using the smallest amount of paper towels to tackle the mess. The one brand that I have found to be the most absorbent is Bounty, and I was thrilled...

New York City Sailboat Sightseeing Excursion

Posted by on Jul 3, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

I visited NYC/boat tour as a guest of Sony Last week, I had a whirlwind 48 hour trip to New York City to learn more about the upcoming film Spider-Man Homecoming. After attending the press conference with the cast of the film, I boarded a sailboat with a group of friends to explore New York City from the sea and got an opportunity to see the city in the same light as Peter Parker. We arrived at Chelsea Piers and then boarded a beautiful sailboat to spend the day on the Hudson. Before the boat left the dock, we were handed a chilled glass of rose wine and presented with a beautiful tray of meats and cheese. The fun began as the boat took off and the white sails went up the mast of the boat. I have been...

Bambi under the Stars

Posted by on Jun 19, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

Sponsored One of my favorite movies as a child was Bambi. When I first saw Bambi as a young child, it played a big part of me falling in love with nature. The movie has the sweetest message and is Disney storytelling at its best. Earlier this month, Bambi was released on Blu-ray and DVD just in time for families to introduce their children to this classic film during the summer. In celebration of the release of the film, I surprised the kids with an outdoor Bambi movie night under the stars while on a recent camping trip. Our family roasted marshmallows by the fire pit, and then I projected the movie on a giant outdoor rock in Yosemite National Park. We had just seen deer while exploring Yosemite earlier in the day, and when my children watched the...

CARS 3 is Just as Good as the First

Posted by on Jun 16, 2017 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We saw a screening as a guest of Disney Ka-chow! Lightning McQueen, Mater, Sally and all your favorite CARS characters are back and ready to take your family on an all-new adventure in CARS 3. The first CARS movie is one of my all time favorite Disney-Pixar films, and I didn’t think it could ever be matched until watching CARS 3. When making plans to see the film, I had wanted my youngest son to see it, expecting him to be the target audience like the first two CARS films. Unfortunately, he got invited to a sleepover with some friends, and like most kids – he couldn’t say ‘no’ to his friends. I then told my teenagers that they were going with me instead of my younger son, and I got the typical teenager eye roll. I took my...

Posted by on Jun 14, 2017 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 1 comment

We attended as a guest of the venue The time has finally come for Lightening McQueen and Mater to make a return to the big screen in CARS 3. Our family fell in love with the story and the characters when the first CAR’s film came out in 2006, and we fell in love with them all over again when watching CARS 3. Over the weekend, I went to the Disneyland Resort where I had a special opportunity to sit down with the cast of the film and talk about what makes the movie so special. When I arrived at The Disneyland Resort, the venue was buzzing as people were busy getting the venue ready for the premiere that was going to happen later that evening. I found my seat in a room full of chairs and in front...

In partnership with Grand Central Publishing Over the years, I have enjoyed watching the Jason Bourne movies. I love suspenseful films, and every movie immersed me into the world of Jason Bourne, filled full of adventure, suspense, and action. Recently, I learned that the movies series is based off a popular series of bestselling books by the author Robert Ludlum. Once I discovered this, I immediately started reading the books and fell in love with the book series just as much as I did the films. Starting tomorrow, June 13th, an all-new book will be coming to bookstores nationwide, The Bourne Initiative. The new book is written by the New York Times bestselling writer, Eric Van Lustbader, who carries on Jason Bourne’s story with a new novel about the rogue secret agent who has lost his memory. The Bodyguard the Musical Delivers an Epic Performance

Posted by on Jun 2, 2017 in Autos, Entertainment, Kia, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue/vehicle provided by Kia I have grown up going on a regular basis to see performances at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. The creativity of the artists I have watched perform over the years made me fall in love with the arts, and then become an integrated arts student at the Orange County School of the Arts. Every time that I see a performance at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, I am blown away, especially when seeing The Bodyguard the Musical. We went to see the performance earlier in the week, and I didn’t know what to expect. I knew that the film which the musical is based on was one of my mom’s favorite movies as a teenager, and so I knew that it was going to be something...

Wonderful Wonder Woman is Back

Posted by on Jun 1, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

Sponsored Growing up in the late 70’s early 80’s my world revolved around Scooby Doo, The Love Boat, and Wonder Woman.  Even saying the words, Wonder Woman makes me feel like that 6-year-old, sitting on the shag carpet, staring up at the TV, watching Linda Carter spin and turn into Wonder Woman. She was amazing, and I always wished that I could be just as amazing as she was.  Sadly the show’s run ended and with that so did our female superhero role model for almost 30 years. I cannot believe it took this long for such a magnificent character to come to the big scene. With our world changing so much, and girl power being in the forefront socially and politically, this was a perfect time to introduce the new generation to Diana, Princess of the Amazons. For those...

The Secret Life of Pets ‘Pupcakes’

Posted by on May 31, 2017 in Entertainment, Film, Recipes | 0 comments

I am a member of the Netflix Stream Team One of our favorite movies to watch right now on Netflix is “The Secret Life of Pets.” The hilarious animated film is about a terrier named Max and a stray who Max doesn’t like named Duke. Together they go on an epic adventure in New York City trying to find their way home. The film has a great message, is super funny, and is a film that families can enjoy watching again and again. During the holiday weekend, my kids wanted to stream “The Secret Life of Pets” on Netflix, and I surprised them by making ‘Pupcakes’ for their movie snack. I paused the movie when the dogs were at the sausage factory for an intermission and brought out the pupcakes. The minute that my kids saw the paw print...

Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins Talk about Wonder Woman Empowering Girls

Posted by on May 31, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

Sponsored My daughter and I were invited by Warner Brothers to an exclusive behind the scenes meet and greet with Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot, and the woman who created the magic, Director Patty Jenkins. When we entered the sound stage, before us was a room filled with bean bags for the younger ladies and chairs for their mamas.   All the girls, dressed in their Wonder Woman gear were patiently seated, wide-eyed and smiling. As we waited for the dynamic duo to enter the room, mothers and daughters talked about the film. We all agreed that we had grown up loving Wonder Woman and how we were so thrilled that our heroine had reappeared. The joy we felt for the Wonder Woman of our generation was the same that our daughter’s felt for Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, and we couldn’t wait to meet...

Posted by on May 26, 2017 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the screening as a guest of Disney When I first heard that the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean would be coming to theaters, I was a bit surprised.  It had been a number of years (6 to be exact) that we last saw a Pirates movie.  My son was very excited as this would be the first Pirates movie he would be old enough to see in theaters.  I was a bit more hesitant.  After all, they have had four other movies out there.  What will episode 5 bring for us? And so this past Friday, we as a family caught a preview of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Our favorite pirate, Jack Sparrow, returns to the fifth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean. Joining him is the frenemy Geoffrey Rush...

We attended a preview as a guest of Disney The all-new attraction at Disney California Adventure Park, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!, is full of Easter eggs. It will take guests visiting the ride hundreds of times to see all the different artifacts carefully placed by The Collector (aka Taneleer Tivan) in his fortress, and the artifacts in the lobby may be changing from time to time. Once guests enter the lobby, there will be pieces of The Collector’s prize possessions everywhere, with the most detailed items being in his office. I got a sneak peek of the ride, and I am excited to share some fun facts about the new attraction, and some Easter Eggs you’ll want to look for when experiencing Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! for the first time! When guests enter...

Interview with the Cast of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

Posted by on May 24, 2017 in Disney, Entertainment, Featured, Film | 0 comments

I attended the interviews as a guest of Disney. The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, the fifth installment in the Pirates of The Caribbean Story will be released in theaters this Friday, May 26th.  The origins of the movie series goes back to the Disney ride of the same name and frankly my favorite ride of the park. One of the most enduring characters that have come to the movie screens in the past 14 years has been the portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow by Johnny Depp.  Not to mention the supporting characters played by some the Hollywood elite Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightly, Geoffrey Rush and joining the cast this time around Javier Bardem. I had an incredible opportunity to spend time with some of the cast this past weekend and interviewed them about the...

Best Teen Summer Read – The Trials of Apollo: The Dark Prophecy

Posted by on May 15, 2017 in Books, Education, Entertainment, Family, Giveaways | 5 comments

Sponsored The one thing that I love to do is read. With school ending within just a few short weeks, I have been busy planning my must-have summer reading calendar. One book that I couldn’t wait to read this summer is The Trials of Apollo: The Dark Prophecy. Imagine my surprise when I received a box on Friday that had a copy of the book I have been dying to read – I dropped everything and read the book within a couple of hours. Who doesn’t drop everything to get their hands on the newest Rick Riordan book? The man is a genius of an author who immerses his readers into another realm. The Trials of Apollo is one of my favorite book series by far! The book is complete with puns, backstabbing, poetry and so much more! The...

Inside Look into Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Live at The Segerstrom Center

Posted by on May 12, 2017 in Entertainment, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue My two teen daughters have many diverse hobbies and interests, but two main obsessions – music and Harry Potter. My 16-year-old has read the series eight times through, enjoyed the films many times over, and is a member of her high school’s Harry Potter Club called The Muggles of YL. She also plays the flute and piano in the high school marching, concert, and jazz bands. My 14-year-old is similarly fanatical about the “Wizarding World” and is a violinist in her middle school orchestra. So you can imagine their disbelief followed by extreme excitement to learn they’d be treated to a behind-the-scenes rehearsal and performance of a Harry Potter film with live orchestration. The acclaimed Pacific Symphony, led by renowned conductor Jeffrey Schindler performing John Williams’ award-winning and memorable music from...
