Netflix Trollhunters Inspired Rock Trolls Craft

Posted by on Dec 27, 2016 in Crafts, Entertainment, Television Shows | 0 comments

We are a member of the Netflix Stream Team The minute that my kids saw their first episode of Trollhunters on Netflix, they fell in love with the show. They were immersed into a world where the trolls live, and couldn’t stop talking about the show for days after watching the first couple of episodes. Since my kids love the Netflix series so much, I decided to help them make their own trolls at home, so we made rock trolls. My kids favorite part of making this craft was acting out some scenes from the series while searching for rocks around the neighborhood. All of the rocks the kids collected were just as unique as the trolls in the Netflix series. They had a blast taking their time to carefully find rocks that looked just like the trolls in...

Bringing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to Life

Posted by on Dec 26, 2016 in Christmas, Entertainment, Holiday, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Earlier this week, we were invited to watch the musical Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. We were so excited when we received tickets for the musical because we have been watching the classic 1964 Claymation movie almost daily. The Dolby Theatre is relatively new and every seat has a perfect view of the stage. It made the experience that much more special. My three-year-old son and one-year-old daughter both love the movie, as do my husband and I. It brought me back to when I was growing up and would watch the movie with my parents. The musical follows the sequence of the beloved movie and is narrated by Sam the Snowman. They had performers and even puppeteers to enhance the performance making it feel as if you were...

Amazing Disney on Ice Worlds of Enchantment

Posted by on Dec 22, 2016 in Disney, Entertainment, Theatre | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of the venue Last night my family and I had the opportunity to see Disney on Ice Worlds of Enchantment at the Honda Center. Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed the show. My three year old left the show asking to go back to see it tomorrow and my one year old watched in amazement. This show is so well done and entertaining it had both of my young kiddos sitting still and watching in awe the entire time. Mickey and Minnie host the show by introducing scenes from Toy Story 3, The Little Mermaid, Cars, and Frozen. Each storyline was presented with such talent from the ice skaters as they tell the story of each of the movies. Toy Story 3 started in Andy’s room as he says goodbye to his toys before he...

Hilarious Holiday Fun at Elf the Musical

Posted by on Dec 21, 2016 in Christmas, Entertainment, Events, Holiday, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue If you are looking for something fun to do with your children this holiday season, Elf the Musical at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts is the place to bring them. Elf is my youngest son’s favorite holiday movie, and the minute that I saw Elf the Musical was coming to Orange County, I knew that I had to get tickets to bring him to see the show. With my two older children off for holiday break and my youngest still in school, I couldn’t wait to lift his spirits by surprising him with a night out at the Segerstrom Center. The minute that he heard me say, “Elf the Musical,” he screamed with excitement. Since it’s just a couple of days before Christmas, we left early to beat the traffic...

The Nutcracker at Segerstrom Center for the Arts

Posted by on Dec 16, 2016 in Entertainment, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Ever since I was little, I have loved watching the Nutcracker. I love to go with my grandma every single year. When I was little, I was a ballerina, and I enjoyed watching all of the people dance around the stage. Once of my favorite venues to see the Nutcracker is at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. I have seen it as many different places, but the Segerstrom Center for the Arts is by far my favorite. As the holiday season was approaching, I couldn’t wait until the day that I would get to see the Nutcracker with my grandma at the Segerstrom Center. When we first arrived at the Segerstrom Center, the first thing we did was run upstairs and grab a picture at the really cool photo opportunity....

Sleeping Beauty and Holiday Traditions

Posted by on Dec 15, 2016 in Entertainment, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue If you’ve read any of my posts, you’d know that I love theater and taking my family to as many shows as possible.  It doesn’t matter the venue; I’m always up for a show.  Last month one of my friends was talking about having a mom’s night out with our kids to see Sleeping Beauty at the Laguna Playhouse in Laguna Beach instead of a regular holiday dinner gift exchange.  I loved the idea of making holiday memories that didn’t consist of food and gifts, instead of experiences. I was the first to say yes for two reasons; one I love Sleeping Beauty (seriously she was my favorite princess growing up) and two, I had always wanted to see a show at the Laguna Playhouse.   I had driven by the venue...

Word of Mouse Gives Kids ‘Words to Live By’

Posted by on Dec 13, 2016 in Books, Education, Family, Giveaways, Parenting | 22 comments

Sponsored My children love to read. They are the rare children in todays society that are always walking around with a book in their hand vs. a digital device. Since my children are always reading, I love when I come across a book with a good message. Word of Mouse is a new book that was just released yesterday that sends children a great message on friendship. Before giving my children the book to read, I encouraged them to think about what words do they live by? Love. Kindness. Hope. These were a few of the words that my kids mentioned to me. We talked about what those words mean to them, and then I let them jump into the world created by James Patterson in Word of Mouse. James Patterson’s newest illustrated middle grade story follows the illuminating...

The 80’s are Back with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Posted by on Dec 13, 2016 in Disney, Entertainment, Featured, Film | 0 comments

We attended the screening as a guest of Disney Just like many of you, I grew up watching Star Wars. I would dress up like Princess Leia and immerse myself into the magical world of Star Wars while doing imaginative play with my friends. Star Wars was a big part of my childhood, and when I had children, I knew that I wanted it to be a part of their childhood too. Once my kids were old enough to start walking, I purchased them their first box set of the Star Wars movies. As they have grown-up, we have spent many nights watching Star Wars together, and I’ll even dress-up for some imaginary play time with them from time to time. Recently, new Star Wars films have begun coming out, and now our children are starting to have a...

World Premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Posted by on Dec 12, 2016 in Disney, Entertainment, Featured, Film | 0 comments

I attended the event as a guest of Disney Last week something incredible happened… My daughter and I had just arrived in Yosemite for a mother/daughter getaway. Once we arrived at the hotel, I had to go into a short meeting, and my daughter returned to the room to relax after our long drive. When I returned to the room to meet my daughter, I opened the door, and she started talking with so much excitement that I could barely make out the words that she was saying. Then I heard her say, “Mom, you missed a call while you were gone, and you got invited to the world premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story!” And then we both started screaming!! Words cannot describe how excited and honored I felt to have been invited to this once...

A Magical Experience at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts

Posted by on Dec 6, 2016 in Entertainment, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Before my mother and I moved to California we lived in London.  Summers in London consisted of concert series in the park.  My uncles and aunts would pack picnics and we would head to Hampstead to listen to the orchestra play.  I would love playing about listening to the music as the sun set and watching the stars appear.  It was quite lovely and the memory is something that lives deep instead me.  When we moved here in the early 80s it was a bit of a culture shock.  Gone were the days of theater and concert in the park with my family which caused a void in my soul.  It wasn’t until 1986 that a spark of joy was lit again.  I was in 6th grade and Segerstrom Center for...

Entice Rudolph with Reindeer Chow

Posted by on Dec 5, 2016 in Christmas, Entertainment, Family, Film, Holiday, Recipes | 0 comments

Sponsored One of my favorite things to do during the holiday season is to watch the classic version of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” with my children. The timeless story brings out the spirit of the season in a way that is indescribable, and watching a classic holiday movie is one of the best ways to get your family into the holiday spirit. Along with “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” we also enjoy watching “Frosty the Snowman,” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” during the holiday season. The one thing that has been challenging for me in the past was finding the movies to download and watch with our children every year. When I learned that an Anniversary Collection of the three timeless films was being released this year, I jumped at the opportunity to add it to our home...

Moana Teen Movie Review

Posted by on Nov 24, 2016 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

I saw the movie as a guest of Disney Ever since I was young, I have loved Disney Princesses! My whole world revolved around them, and now that I am an older I still love them! When Frozen came out, I was so happy. I had to get all of the Frozen toys and gizmos. I even had three Elsa costumes! When I heard about Moana, I could not wait, and I was hoping it would be amazing just like Frozen. I heard about Moana about three months before it was going to come out. I was so bummed that it wouldn’t be coming out for a while, but then the very next day, Disney sent me the Moana book! I immediately started reading it, and I fell in love. It took me about a two weeks to read...

5 Fun Facts about Moana

Posted by on Nov 23, 2016 in Disney, Entertainment, Featured, Film | 0 comments

We saw the film as a guest of Disney Moana is one of the most magical things to ever be created by the Walt Disney Animation Studios. There was so much research that went into the film and so many fun facts about the making of the movie that we wanted to share our five favorite facts about the film Moana. While it your might think that Moana is wearing the same outfit in the movie – look closer because she wears seven different outfits. One of her most elaborate outfits was only shown for six seconds in the film during a dance sequence. My favorite character in the film, Heihei was originally going to be a smart and sassy chicken, but the filmmakers didn’t feel like it was working with the film, and almost cut his character from...
