Posted by on Jul 23, 2017 in Events | 0 comments

We were invited as a guest of the venue. The Queen Mary hosted its 3rd Annual Shipkicker Music Festival, and it was the place to be for Southern California country music fans.  Not only did you have a full day of music, but there were also food and beverage vendors, merchandise vendors and the Shipkicker Saloon with line dancing and amazing performances on three different stages. Jake Parr is an amazing up and coming singer, songwriter, and musician who opened things up on the main stage.  This talented young man is an OC native growing up in Tarzana, CA and after just a few seconds into his set, he had the crowd on their feet and dancing to his music.  After his set, Jake took to the crowd to shake hands and mingle with his fans.  It is one...

Posted by on Jul 22, 2017 in Entertainment, Events, Theatre | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of the venue Being a mom of two boys, I have learned to love superheroes. My boys are constantly educating me and teaching me about the lore behind the comic book stories. When my boys first learned about Marvel Universe Live that was coming to the Honda Center, they asked if I could take them. It was the day after we were scheduled to arrive back from a week in Maui, and I was worried that we would all be too tired to enjoy the show, but my boys were showered, dressed and ready to go hours before it was time to leave. On our way to the Honda Center, my kids got even more excited about the show reading about Naz and her children’s experience going behind-the-scenes. Her kids got to learn about...

A Behind the Scenes Look at Marvel Universe Live!

Posted by on Jul 21, 2017 in Disney, Entertainment, Events, Theatre | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue Yesterday my children and I were given the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the all new Marvel Universe Live! Age of Heroes live action show at the Honda Center.  My son is a huge Marvel fan and was excited to see how the team makes the magic come alive. We were greeted by the stunt superhero team which gave us a demonstration on how they perform their moves.  Fight 101 wasn’t just hands on; it was also about mind control.  Ten hours of training daily is how this team makes sure that they are not only safe but also on point.  The show is action packed with so many moving parts, being in sync with one another is what is need to make the show a success and to keep...

Brew Hee Haw 2017: Not Your Ordinary Craft Beer Roundup

Posted by on Jul 19, 2017 in Events | 0 comments

I attended as a guest of the event. Year after year, the OC Fair continues to allure me with its fried food and exhibits, but this year, Brew Hee Haw Craft Beer Roundup showed me why the fair’s opening weekend is the best time to go. This craft beer festival, held on July 15 and 16, served as the perfect excuse to attend the fair earlier than I usually do and was an incredible outing for my friend David and me. My expectation for OC Brew Ha Ha Productions’ fourth annual Brew Hee Haw was high due to my experience at Brew Haha, and I can happily commend that they succeeded. Entering the festival was really easy – once we walked through the fair’s gates, we spotted the large tent where the festival was happening right away. Security quickly...

The Whole Purpose: A Welcome Hug From a Friend

Posted by on Jul 12, 2017 in Events | Comments Off on The Whole Purpose: A Welcome Hug From a Friend

We attended as a guest of the venue An invitation to attend The Whole Purpose is like a welcome hug from a friend. If you ladies would like to do something good for just YOU, then this is it! While a day sounds like a lot because often times, we hardly take an hour for ourselves; it is a must for your own well being. After attending, I am completely hooked and thrilled at what I learned, the friends I made and even (gasp) left with my shoulders relaxed and back where they should be all the time. The event was held at the House of Blues in Anaheim which was the perfect setting with about 150 women in attendance; I love when venues think outside the box and utilize their space during off hours. A group of women...

Celebrating a Love for Avocados

Posted by on Jul 11, 2017 in Events, Family, Health, Recipes | 0 comments

This post was sponsored by the Hass Avocado Board as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own. Avocado season is my favorite time of the year. Every morning, I wake up and make the kids and myself avocado toast for breakfast. I am always getting creative with the different toppings that go on our morning avocado toast, but there is nothing better than enjoying avocado toast when the delicious fruit is in season. Why avocado toast? Every kid loves avocados, and it is a great way to get good monounsaturated fat and nearly 20 vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients into their daily diet. Plus, avocados contain less than one gram of sugar per 1-ounce, the least amount of sugar per serving of any other fresh fruit. This avocado season,...

Three Fun Things to do at SeaWorld this Summer

Posted by on Jul 6, 2017 in Events, Giveaways, Holiday, Summer, Theme Parks | 45 comments

We attended as a guest of SeaWorld Some of my favorite memories as a child were spent at SeaWorld San Diego. When my children were little, we would visit SeaWorld on a regular basis until I felt a lot of the pressures from friends and family to cease going to the theme park because of the negative documentary that was released. Unfortunately, I stopped bringing my children to SeaWorld for many years without taking the time to consider all the conservation and animal rescue efforts that SeaWorld does for animals. I brought my children to SeaWorld San Diego for the first time that they could remember last year, and went on a behind-the-scenes tour where I learned all about the good that SeaWorld does for animals. They have a massive rescue and rehabilitation facility where they care for sick/injured...

A night to Remember: Circus Vargas Steam Cirque

Posted by on Jun 15, 2017 in Events | 3 comments

We attended as a guest of the venue Welcome to the Big Top! Circus Vargas has returned to Orange County with one its best circus performances yet. Over the weekend, I took the kids to the Orange County Great Park to experience the animal-free circus, and it was one of the best circus performances we have ever witnessed. Since I refuse to attend a circus that uses animals for entertainment, it had been years since I had seen a circus, and a first for my children. When we walked up to the venue, it was not super fancy and had an old school feel. There was a small courtyard outside of the tent where families could purchase popcorn, slurpees, and light-up toys for the show. What I really like about the concessions is that they didn’t serve alcohol –...
