Illumination Foundation’s Carnival for Kids

  Illumination Foundation (IF), a local nonprofit breaking the cycle of homelessness, is hosting the 5th Annual Carnival for Kids on July 15, 2017 to raise funds for IF’s Children’s Resource Centers which provide year-round educational services for local homeless youth. Carnival for Kids will be a fun-filled event complete with games, rides, entertainment and delicious food by Villa Roma and Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Food & Beverages. This year there will be a magician, a stilt walker, a petting zoo, and a hint of Disney magic.  We attended as a guest of the venue Summer is officially here and it is the perfect time to get outside and soak up the summer sun at Knott’s Soak City. Last week, I got the kids into their new swimsuits and brought them for an unforgettable day of play at Knott’s Soak City. We visited on the grand reopening, and families were lined up at the front gates, eager to play when we arrived. It was a gloomy morning, but the smiles from all the children having endless fun at the free community event made the sun start to shine. The second of the four series event was a Spring Gardens theme with special Mother’s Day crafts. During the event, children could enjoy complimentary rides on the giant wheel, carousel, and train.   The increase of sharks in our waters has been big news around Orange County. Families are warned to be cautious when swimming at our local beaches and there have been multiple shark attacks. With the increase of sharks in our waters, Dana Wharf is offering Shark Searching Saturdays.
