Posted by on Apr 25, 2017 in Dining, Staycation, Travel | 0 comments

We dined as a guest of the venue When checking into the DoubleTree Suites in Doheny Beach, I noticed the chic restaurant off to the side of the lobby. I took a peek at the menu and immediately knew that I wanted to have dinner with the family one night during our seaside staycation. After a fun day creating family memories at the beach, we returned to the hotel to have dinner at Doheny Surf. The restaurant has a coastal design that is perfect for families to enjoy an intimate dinner together. The one thing that I noticed in the restaurant is that they have a wood fire pizza oven which is rare to find in a hotel restaurant. The menu had a wide variety of culinary options making it easy for everyone in my family to find something...

Taste of Aloha at Island’s Restaurant

Posted by on Apr 19, 2017 in Dining | 0 comments

We dined as a guest Island’s is one of our go-to family restaurants. They always have something for everyone in the family to enjoy, provides a relaxing dining environment, and the service is always impeccable. Some of our favorite dishes to enjoy at Island’s Restaurant features sweet pineapple. While savoring a delicious dish with pineapples, it always makes us reminisce about our favorite Hawaiian memories. Did you know that Island’s uses 182,000 fresh pineapples per year? That is a lot of pineapples, and something worth celebrating! In celebration of pineapple season, Island’s has launched a tasty pineapple pairing menu that matches their pineapple menu items with the perfect tropical drink. When our family heard about the new pairing menu, we made plans to have dinner together at our local Island’s Restaurant. Shortly after being seated at our table, the...

Monterey’s Fish House

Posted by on Apr 17, 2017 in Dining, Monterey, Travel | 0 comments

After a long drive from Orange County to Monterey, we settled into our room at the Monterey Tides Resort, and then looked online for somewhere to get dinner. There are so many choices when it comes to dining in Monterey, and one restaurant that stood out to us among the rest was the Monterey’s Fish House. Little did we realize that we picked Monterey’s most popular restaurant to go for dinner. We arrived at the restaurant close to 8 pm on a Thursday, and there was a line of people that wrapped around the side of the building. We took our place in line and waited for a table at the highly acclaimed restaurant. Once we got a table, the service was phenomenal. We got a small table in the back of the restaurant and had one of...

Tonita’s Mexican Food in San Luis Obispo

Posted by on Apr 13, 2017 in Dining, San Luis Obispo, Travel | 0 comments

There is nothing I love more than authentic Mexican Food. While on our recent road trip to Monterey, we made a quick stop in San Luis Obispo to look at Bubblegum Alley and to have lunch. When we arrived in town, there were endless choices of places where we could stop for lunch, but it was a small taco shop on the corner that caught our eye, and we had one of the best lunches at Tonita’s Mexican Food. The restaurant is a small building that has a large outdoor patio with a beautiful view of lush plants and trees. We were a little deceived at first because the Yelp app was advising that the restaurant was closed, but when we turned the knob on the front door, there was a lovely lady at the counter ready to...

We dined as a guest of the venue I have been hearing a lot of buzz surrounding the cuisine being created at Vizcaino (previously Cafe Beach) at the Monterey Tides Resort. When planning a short weekend getaway to Monterey, I made reservations for us to have dinner at the highly acclaimed restaurant. We made reservations to have dinner right at sunset, and it was the perfect timing to have dinner at Vizcaino. We took our seat right next to big glass windows that provided us with beautiful views of the crystalline waters. We ordered our drinks and got ready to embark on an unforgettable dining experience. Our meal started by sharing the Queso Fundido. This dish is one of our favorites to have while in Mexico, and this dish had the same authentic flavors like the ones we enjoy...

Sponsored While on a recent staycation in Laguna Beach, my husband and I hired a sitter to stay with our children at The Laguna Beach House Hotel, and we went out for an unforgettable date night at Selanne Steak Tavern. When we arrived at the restaurant, the building looked like something out of a Disney fairy tale. There was an adorable wishing well by the front door that we dropped a penny into before walking into the restaurant for an evening to remember. The inside of the restaurant is just as beautiful as the outside. We took our seat at a private table and got ready to embark on an epicurean adventure. Selanne has a wide selection of wines available, and we were able to select the perfect glass of wine to toast before starting our dinner together. For...

Posted by on Mar 20, 2017 in Dining, Events | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of the venue On a Sunday morning, we surprised our kids with news that we were going to take them to have breakfast at the circus. When we drove up to The Pirate’s Dinner Adventure, my kids screamed “PIRATES” but soon learned that they were going to experience something fun and new at the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure, The Cirque Magique. When we entered the building, the entire lobby was set-up like a mini circus. There was popcorn being served, and everyone was dressed in circus attire. Clowns were walking around greeting and interacting with children until the time had come for everyone to enter the room for breakfast. In the main room, there were multiple tables and a large stage in the center of the room. Families took their seats and got ready for...

Juice Served Here ‘JSH’ Marina Cafe

Posted by on Mar 2, 2017 in Dining | 0 comments

We dined as a guest of the venue There is one thing that I love, and that is juicing. The only thing I dread about juicing is cleaning up the mess it causes in my kitchen. Thankfully, over the past couple of years, high-quality juice companies have started opening their doors around Orange County, and I no longer have to juice at home. Since I get a fresh juice at least once a day, I am always on the lookout for a new place to try. I was hearing a lot of buzz surrounding the new Juice Served Here Marina Cafe (JSH), so I made plans to bring my son to have breakfast (and a juice) with me on a day when he was off from school. Since it was a rainy day when we went to Juice Served...

Urth Caffé in Laguna Beach

Posted by on Feb 28, 2017 in Dining | 0 comments

Ever since it opened, I have been dying to have breakfast or lunch at Urth Caffé in Laguna Beach. When arriving at The Inn at Laguna Beach for a weekend staycation, it was the perfect excuse to bring the kiddos for lunch at Urth. Urth Caffé is located in the historic building in which the popular dining destination, The Cottage was once located. It is right across the street from the Laguna Art Museum and has a spacious outdoor patio that is perfect for family dining. We ordered our lunch at the counter and then took a seat on the heated patio right next to the giant tile art sculpture. We waited just a few moments, and a server brought our food to the table. The moment that my taste buds touched my latte, I was in heaven....
