We dined as a guest of the venue We were excited to find out that Habana in Costa Mesa created a great New Years Eve bash to ring 2017! “The End of Embargo” will usher in this New Year here at Habana with a classy, fun, beautiful environment feeling as if you decided to visit Cuba this year. Good news, you can do this locally in Costa Mesa. On a recent rainy evening, we walked through the door at Habana with a lovely, warm welcome as if we were visiting good friends. The inviting red glow around the bar area was full of smiling faces with a low whisper of conversation. We noticed intimate spaces in the restaurant both inside and out under the tree tops. The restaurant felt so inviting, but because of the taps of rain coming...

Posted by on Dec 22, 2016 in Dining, New Year's Eve | 0 comments

We visited as a guest of the venue I had the opportunity to sip on some cocktails and taste a few new items on the menu at Mesa. The ambiance at Mesa is sexy, and Chef Niki rocked it! Mesa is a perfect place for a date night or dinner with friends. I promise this place will have you feeling sexy too. Did someone say cocktails? I enjoyed a few of Mesa’s New Signature Cocktails and let me tell you; I could sip on them all night! From the Tempest infused gin to the Bonita Applebottom rye whiskey and the High Chi with kettle one, I was one happy girl. Each signature cocktail had its own unique taste, and you could taste that the mixologist put his heart and soul into each cocktail. I will be sipping on more...

Orange County Sends Out 2014 in a Winter Wonderland

Posted by on Jan 1, 2015 in Featured, New Year's Eve, Uncategorized | 0 comments

Residents around Orange County woke up New Year’s Eve morning to a rare sight: SNOW! And this snow wasn’t just high atop Saddleback Mountain either.  For the first time in many residents’ memory, the snow level was low enough to actually play in! Amazing!  When my husband called me at 6:45am, fifteen minutes after he left for work, I thought it was an emergency (since he doesn’t usually call at that time) and frantically answered my phone. No emergency here; other than that he told me to throw the kids in the car as soon as they woke up and drive the 241 to get a good look at the mountains before the snow started melting. We did just that; teeth unbrushed, rain boots and jackets over jammies, and with just a quick stop for hot chocolate (because snow...

New Year’s Eve Kid’s Mocktail Recipe

Posted by on Dec 29, 2014 in Entertainment, Film, New Year's Eve, Recipes | 1 comment

We are a Netflix stream team member Are your kids ready to party like it’s 2015? The ultimate party animal, King Julien, is ready to party with your kids with his all-new series on Netflix, “All Hail King Julien.” In anticipation of the big night, we tested out this delicious kid-friendly mocktail recipe to serve to our kids on the big night. We started out with some fun mason jars and colored straws. Adding a rim of sprinkles to a glass is simple, and kids love it! To make a sprinkle rim on your kid’s glasses, dip the rim of the cup in corn syrup, and then dip into sprinkles. Hold the glass over the bowl of corn syrup for a few minutes until the dripping has stopped to avoid having the sprinkles slide down the cup. Ingredients: 1...

Holiday Cranberry Champagne Cocktail Recipe

Posted by on Dec 11, 2014 in Christmas, New Year's Eve, Recipes | 0 comments

Item received for review   When getting ready to plan your upcoming holiday party, welcome your guests with a flavorful cranberry champagne cocktail. The recipe is simple to make and all the prep work can be done ahead of time to avoid added stress during your holiday party. Feeling overwhelmed by what brand of champagne to purchase? ARIA is not only an affordable brand with an average pricing of $14 a bottle, but also boast sophisticated flavors. ARIA comes from the Penedes region of Spain outside of Barcelona from an estate that dates back to the 11th century. For this recipe, I used the ARIA Estate Brut because of its lively and refreshing tasting notes.   Cranberry Champagne Cocktail Recipe Ingredients: 1 cup fresh cranberries 1 cup sugar 1 bottle ARIA Estate Brut Champagne saucepan strainer (cranberries for garnish)...

How to Stay Healthy and Get Fit in the New Year

Posted by on Dec 19, 2013 in Featured, Fitness, Holiday, New Year's Eve | 0 comments

Is getting fit in 2014 one of your New Year’s Resolutions? Wondering how to stay healthy in 2014? We sat down with fitness expert Erin Woodbury to discuss ways that you can get fit and stay healthy in the New Year! What is the best tip for getting fit? My best tip is to not get caught up in resolutions. Fitness and health need to be priorities daily, not one big push once or twice per year. A resolution is usually stated once, and often, the statement is too vague. Committing to “get healthier,” or “go to the gym more often,” doesn’t claim a specific goal. Fitness needs to be a daily discussion people have internally, and out loud with others. The internal voice must be louder than the one that says, “I’m too tired to go to the...

Family Fun at Knott’s New Year’s Eve Party

Posted by on Jan 8, 2013 in Events, Featured, Knott's Berry Farm, New Year's Eve, Uncategorized | 0 comments

Knott’s Berry Farm was hosting a “family friendly” NYE Celebration this year. We have had season passes this year and have visited Knott’s numerous times over the past year. We had never seen so many young families enjoying quality time together, at Knott’s as we did on New Year’s Eve. There was fun to be enjoyed throughout the park. The big festivities began starting at dark, but since we are a little nervous about driving with young kids at night on New Year’s Eve, we had to miss the dancing and fireworks. We were still able to feel like part of the NYE celebration at Knott’s by following the fun on Instagram. When we first arrived at Knott’s Berry Farm, we started on some of our classic favorite Knott’s rides, The mailbox ride, cho-cho train and the hot...
