Journey into the Wilderness with Disneynature Bears
We attended the screening as a guest of Disney
While I was at the Disney Social Media Moms conference over the weekend, we had a unique opportunity to pre-screen the Disneynature Film “Bears.” Since there is nothing I love more than being outside and exploring nature, I could not wait to see the film.

The kids and I arrived at the theater early to make sure we had the best possible seat to see the remarkable film of a Mother bear and her two baby cubs documented over the course of a year.
Camping at the Sequoia National Forest
While my family was camping a couple of summers ago at the Sequoia National Forest, we happened to come across a momma bear and her babies. They were just feet away from us, and it was one of the most incredible experiences my children and I ever had. We stood on the trail for hours watching the baby cubs interact with their mama before continuing with our hike to a nearby waterfall.

Ever since that encounter with bears in real-life, I have been fascinated by them. The film gave my family an incredible look into the trials and tribulations bears go through to survive in the wilderness. The film expanded on our experience of witnessing bears in the wilderness, and gave us a new appreciation for these majestic animals.

My kids were captivated throughout the entire production, and the end of the film was our favorite where they showed the filmmakers, and how close they got to the bears. The filmmakers went to great lengths to capture the journey of the bears in the film so that families around the world can learn and have an up-close look into the lives of bears.
Filmmakers working on Disneynature Bears
After the film, our children could not stop talking about the time that we saw the bears on our camping trip and about how remarkable their lives are in the wilderness.
Even if your family has not had the incredible experience of encountering bears in the wilderness, your children will love every minute of the film. The film opens in theaters everywhere today, and if your family goes to see the Disneynature Film “Bears” during the films opening week, Disneynature will make a donation to the National Park Foundation through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.
After seeing the film this weekend, enjoy doing these fun activity sheets with your kids:
