Eric Carle Books Come to Life at Discovery Cube
We visited as a guest of the venue
Some of my favorite bedtime memories have been reading Eric Carle books to my children. It doesn’t matter how old my children have gotten; they still love cuddling up with me on the couch to read an Eric Carle Book. They love watching the fireflies light up at the end of “The Very Lonely Firefly” and singing along with me to the story of “Brown Bear, Brown Bear.” When I learned that Discovery Cube OC was hosting a limited-time Eric Carle exhibit, I couldn’t wait to bring my children to explore the exhibit.
The minute that my children walked into Discovery Cube OC they were immersed into the world of the Eric Carle’s stories. My daughter put on a pair of butterfly wings and got ready to fly around the exhibit.
My kids favorite part of the exhibit was getting to crawl through tall blades of grass. They felt just like little bugs crawling through the grass in our backyard, and it was the perfect way for them to do imaginative play.
Once they were done running through grass, they were able to create a butterfly using light projection. There were multiple color plastic pieces that children can use to create their own magical butterfly and then project it up on the wall for everyone at Discovery Cube OC to see.
If you have an active little one, they are going to get all their energy out while running through the very busy spider web. My younger son could have spent all day feeling like he was in the middle of a giant spider web while trying to avoid getting snatched up by the spider.
An Eric Carle exhibit wouldn’t be complete without an interactive Very Hungry Caterpillar experience. Your children can pretend to be a caterpillar and “eat” their way through the different foods just like the caterpillar did in the book.
My children spent hours exploring the exhibit, and once they were done, we got a healthy snack at the Bean Sprouts Cafe before returning home. The Eric Carle exhibit is geared towards children 2-8 years. However, my 10 and 13-year-old loved the exhibit. It is included with the price of admission at Discovery Cube OC and will only be here until May 14th.
