Toddler Tuesdays Camping & Adventure at the Irvine Spectrum Center

Hosted in partnership with the Irvine Spectrum Center The Toddler Tuesdays weekly series at The Irvine Spectrum ended this week with a festive camping and adventure theme. The fourth week of free family fun brought hundreds of OC Families together to create unforgettable memories in Big Wheel Court at The Irvine Spectrum Center. The event kicked off with children getting an adorable hat at the welcome table. Once families got checked into the event, they were guided to the Yogurtland and Corner Bakery table where delicious treats were awaiting them. From there, it was endless from 10 am to 12 pm. During the event, there was face painting, balloon artists, a photo booth, and live entertainment. The OC Mom Blog was at the event with an interactive spinning wheel where kids could win a fun prize. The center of Big Wheel Court was filled with families sitting on the grass enjoying picnic lunches and meeting up with friends. Kids were dancing to the music and having the time of their life. Along with the fun in Big Wheel Court, there were also complimentary train rides, carousel rides and rides on the big wheel. Children were squealing with delight while riding the carousel around and around. The train is always a favorite of kid’s visiting The Irvine Spectrum Center, and the train was continuously loaded up with kids smiling from ear to ear. It was the last of the four-week community event. We are working on helping to host more free fun family events in Orange County shortly. Make sure and follow our Facebook page for updates! Thank you to everyone who brought their families to Toddler Tuesdays and made it such a special...

Spring Gardens Toddler Tuesdays at the Irvine Spectrum

Hosted in partnership with the Irvine Spectrum Center The rain didn’t stop families from coming to the Irvine Spectrum Center for the second Toddler Tuesdays event. It was a gloomy morning, but the smiles from all the children having endless fun at the free community event made the sun start to shine. The second of the four series event was a Spring Gardens theme with special Mother’s Day crafts. During the event, children could enjoy complimentary rides on the giant wheel, carousel, and train. Children were squealing with delight as the carousel would go around and around. The sounds of little ones saying, “choo-choo” could be heard from all around the Irvine Spectrum Center as the train took kids on a train ride adventure. For the crafts, there were mini pots for children to decorate, wind chimes to color and special Mother’s Day themed oven mitts to decorate for mom. Children were able to unleash their creativity at the art tables. Along with crafts, there was also face painting, balloon artists and a flower-adorned photo booth for parents to capture photos as a memory of the event. In the center of the giant wheel court, Pretend City set-up a large block play area, mini sand table and welcomed children to play parachute. The event was one to remember forever, and many parents couldn’t wait to return this morning for the third Toddler Tuesdays event, with a safari theme. There is one more Toddler Tuesday’s event happening next Tuesday from 10 am to 12 pm. Everything at the event is complimentary, and the last event will be extra fun with a camping theme. See you there! Photos courtesy of Allen Thomas...

A Glimpse of the Past at the Remnants Vintage Show

Sponsored Multiple events were happening around Orange County over Mother’s Day weekend, and one of the most popular events was the Remnants of the Past Vintage show that happened at the OC Fair and Events Center. The popular vintage show tours across the country and families were eager to see the vintage collection during the event in Orange County. Remnants of the Past abounded with timeless treasures from more than 65 vendors, each carefully vetted by renowned collector and designer, Judy Watkins, producer of the show. The bi-annual Remnants of the Past Vintage Show is in its eleventh year. This past weekend marked the 20th show, and the first time it has been presented in Orange County! When we arrived at the show this past weekend, we fell in love with the collection of vintage items. My husband and I spent hours looking at all the different things, and it gave us a beautiful glimpse into the past. There were things that brought back so many memories from my childhood, and I loved being able to talk about the items with my grandchildren who attended the show with us. We could have spent all day walking around the show admiring all the items, and I can’t wait for it to return to Orange County again. Along with the different vintage items, we also had an opportunity to meet the author of the popular book “She Sheds.” It was a pleasure getting a chance to talk with the talented author and get some tips. Follow the Remnants of the Past Vintage show online and on Facebook to find out where the next show will be held, and to know when it returns to Orange County. Author: Gloria...
