Tuesday, March 12th

Meeting of the Queen at the Queen Mary

It will be a royal rendezvous as Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth comes to Long Beach on March 12th at 6pm. This will be the third time in over three decades that another Cunard ship has visited the Queen Mary. There will be live music, entertainment and a spectacular fireworks display. Admission is free to the public.

Bring your children dressed in green for this festive story time at the Mission Viejo Pottery Barn store. There will be story time, crafts and fun for children of all ages. The event is free to the public.

“Dork Diaries” Author Event

Bring your children to meet Rachel Renee Russell, the author of the popular book series “Dork Diaries” at 4pm at A Whale of a Tale Bookeshoppe in Irvine. The event is free to the public.

Join the preserve staff for a fun story time for children ages 2-8 years old from 10:30 to 11:30am. Following the story time there will be crafts, activities and a nature walk. The class is $5 per child.

Saturday, March 16th

Miles Square Park Fishing Derby

Children under the age of 15 can compete to win prizes during this fun fishing derby. The lake will be stocked with over 1,500 pounds of trout for the derby. Bring your fishing rod because there will only be a limited amount of rods available for rental. The event is free to the public, but parking is $5. Registration begins at 7:30am, derby begins at 9am. Bait will not be provided!!

    • The two ships were meeting in Long Beach Randi. It was an amazing site!!
