Family Guide to Knott’s Soak City

We visited Knott’s Soak City as a guest of Knott’s.

Knott’s Soak City is officially open for the summer in Orange County. We could not wait to hit the water slides at Knott’s, and joined in on the opening weekend fun. While visiting Knott’s Soak City for opening weekend, we were able to create a family guide for visiting Knott’s Soak City with your family this summer.

How to get there? Where do you park?

Knott’s Soak City is located right across the street from Knott’s Berry farm. As you drive along Beach Blvd., you cannot miss the giant Knott’s Berry Farm signs. Park like you would be going to the theme park. Go under the small bride and into the main parking lot. Drive to the far east corner and you’ll find the best parking for Soak City. Parking is $15 per vehicle and we recommend bringing cash.

Tickets? Prices?

We highly recommend purchasing your tickets in advance online. If you have not taken advantage of the discounted season pass prices, online tickets are sold at a fraction of the box office prices. Plan your trip ahead of time and keep extra money in your pocket for a churro or pretzel while in the park.

What to bring.

Towels, and extra towels cannot hurt. Sunscreen (lots of it), hats, glasses, a swimsuit and a swim cover. Instead of bringing cash, I brought just one credit card and my ID. Then I didn’t have to worry about loosing my wallet in the park. I also recommend wearing a pair of water shoes!!

Rides!

The little kids have a huge water play area to enjoy. We always recommend having your little ones wearing a life jacket (provided by Soak City) for extra piece of mind.

For the older kiddos there are giant water slides, medium water slides, a lazy river and a wave pool. Again, we recommend staying with your children at all times for added safety.

In the middle of the park, is a fun water playground that children and adults of all ages will enjoy. There is a giant bucket splash, mini water slides and giant water guns. This is my kids favorite thing to do when visiting Soak City.

Where’s lunch?

There is always the option of getting a hand stamp, and getting some take-out from Mrs. Knott’s Chicken House. When we normally visit Knott’s Soak City, we will bring a picnic blanket and enjoy lunch outside of the park alongside of the beautiful turtle and duck filled pond. It ensures that our kids are getting a full lunch and a good opportunity to re-apply sunscreen before getting back in the water.

If a picnic was not what you had in mind, there is a convenient dining area with plenty of shade. They have hot dogs, burgers and all the yummy theme park food.

For those just looking for a quick snack, we always enjoy getting a pretzel or churro from the food cart on the bridge at the opening of Soak City. If you are in the mood for extra sugar while visiting, there are dippin’ dots and funnel cakes!
