The one thing that we had on our mind when traveling to San Francisco was pizza! Immediately after crossing the Bay Bridge, we drove to North Beach for lunch. The pizza place choices were endless, so we went with a friends recommendation, and had lunch at the popular Golden Boy pizza place.

When we arrived, there was a line that wrapped around the corner with people excited to sink their taste buds into a slice of Golden Boy pizza. The aroma of freshly cooked pizza filled the area surrounding the restaurant, and my mouth was watering.

Once we got to the front of the line, it was hard to make a choice. The restaurant offers cheese, pepperoni, combination, and the most famous – clam pizza. Everyone in our family got something different so we could all share, and we couldn’t resist getting a couple of slices of clam pizza.

The dining area is small, and our family couldn’t find five bar stools together, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying our lunch. The minute that I tasted the pizza – I was in love. The pizza comes sliced in squares and is made on focaccia bread. It practically melts in your mouth with every bite.

When it came to the clam pizza, everyone was hesitant to try it, but once everyone in my family had a bite, we all wanted more. The pizza boasts intense flavors that I’ve never quite experienced before. The clams paired with the garlic on top of a bed of melted cheese was pure heaven.
