Guide to Newport Dunes Waterpark

NewportDunesWaterPark5

Newport Dunes has grown so much since I was a kid with the expansion of their water park. While the kids were at camp, they got a chance to experience the Newport Dunes water park, and could not wait to stay after camp one day to show me how much they loved it.

Parking.
You will need to enter Newport Dunes through the gates. Parking can get a little pricey, so plan on staying for the whole day. The first 1/2 hour is free, 30min. to 1 hour is $5, 1-3 hours $10, 3-5 hours $12, 5-7 hours $14, and 7-24 hours is $16. When first entering the gates, park in the parking lot to your first right hand turn.

Where do I get tickets?
If you walk all the way around the lake to where there is a bridge and a bunch of canoes stacked up, you will see a little payment booth. This is where you will get your kids wristbands, and life jackets (required).

How much?
I have to admit that it was little pricey, but the kids really enjoyed it. The water park is $10 per hour, per kid. Since I have three kids, I gave them all an hour, and they were done before the hour was over. It might break the summer bank a bit, but I would recommend doing it at least once before the summer is over.
