Holiday Magic Under the Sea at SeaWorld
It has been many years since our family has visited SeaWorld San Diego, and since our youngest is passionate about animals and conservation, we made plans with Reserve San Diego booking services to visit SeaWorld San Diego during Thanksgiving break. The minute that we entered the gates, our children were immersed into a magical world under the sea that was all decorated for the holiday season.
We started our visit to SeaWorld San Diego by watching the entertaining Dolphin Island Christmas. The show began with festive Hawaiian holiday music followed by an interactive dolphin show. It was the perfect way to kick-off our day at SeaWorld San Diego.
Then our children got a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with bat rays in the large touching pool. Guests visiting the park have a chance to purchase food to feed the bat rays, which I highly recommend.
After splashing in the water with the bat rays, our children enjoyed their favorite holiday show at SeaWorld San Diego, Pet’s Rule Christmas. All our beloved household pets, including a giant pig, took to the stage to show-off some of their fun tricks. Dogs were catching frisbees, birds were flying, and dogs were falling in love during the entertaining performance.
The animal education continued as our children learned all about the rescue work that SeaWorld San Diego does for our local sea life on a behind-the-scenes tour. SeaWorld San Diego has already rescued 929 animals from our Southern California coastline this year. We got to see the operating rooms, recovery tanks, and even had a chance to see spitting fish – so cool!
After the behind-the-scenes tour, our children had a rare opportunity to touch, feed and interact with a dolphin during a dolphin encounter experience. It was a life-changing experience for our entire family, and I can still picture sweet “Dottie the Dolphin” smiling at us from the water as we played a game of peek-a-boo.
Our day ended with some festive holiday fun as our children whispered their holiday wishes into Santa’s ear, sipped on hot cocoa, and took a keepsake photo with Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Our children left SeaWorld San Diego with their hearts full of love for the animals living at SeaWorld San Diego and a new understanding of the hard work that Sea World puts into animal conservation. We ended our day at SeaWorld San Diego by relaxing in a comfortable hotel suite booked through Reserve San Diego.
