Hyatt Regency Summer Concert Date Night
We attended as a guest of the venue
We had the opportunity to see Grammy award winning artist Kenny Loggins at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach Summer Concert Series on Friday evening. He performed inside the Hyatt’s Back Bay Amphitheater that overlooked Newport Beach’s Back Bay.
The show started at 8 pm so we were able to watch the sun set behind the bluffs where it illuminated the water with a beautiful bright orange color. The temperature dropped to a comfortable 70 degrees so a light sweater was nice to have if you get cold. The venue was sold out and sat about 1,200 guests.
The Back Bay Amphitheater was a very intimate venue where you feel like your having a one-on-one concert with the artist. This was our first time attending the Back Bay Amphitheater and seeing Kenny Loggins play live. We must say he lived up to the expectation of a true great performer.
Kenny engaged with the audience, explained the stories behind his songs and performed not one, but two encores. The sold out crowd went wild when Kenny performed “I’m Alright,” “Footloose,” and “Danger Zone”.
The staff at the Hyatt Regency were very polite, professional and accommodating. We were served an array of different appetizers that consisted of cheese plates, salads, avocado toast, and at least 10 different dessert options.
The venue provided fine wine, amazing food and a perfect venue that provided guests with a memorable experience. We know, as this will be a night we will never forget. We will definitely be back in the future to see another great concert at this venue and will highly recommend it to others in the future.
The rest of the 2016 Summer Concert Series consists of:
September 16: Ottmar Liebert
September 23: A Very Special Evening With Smokey Robinson
September 30: Will Downing and Special Guest
October 7: Brian Culbertson
October 14: Boney James.
