International Frozen ‘Yogurtland’ Celebration
Calling all Yogurtland fans, the day we have been waiting for is almost here, International Frozen Yogurt Day! Forget National Frozen Yogurt Day, Yogurtland has taken it to the next level and is making it an international affair by including locations around the world. That’s right on February 6th Yogurtland will be handing out free froyo from 4-7 pm, you can RSVP on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/events/766824393485947/.
Each guest will receive a 5oz cup to top to their heart’s content and also be able to collect the limited edition Hershey’s spoon (while supplies last). We were invited to the Yogurtland headquarters for a sneak taste of the upcoming flavors and let me tell you; you won’t be disappointed. If you are a fan of Yogurtland, you have probably already had their Hershey’s Chocolate Milkshake and have been waiting for its return ever since.
Not only does it make its comeback, it has brought a rich and creamy friend along, the new Peanut Butter Cup made with real Hersey’s Cocoa and Reese’s Peanut Butter. Now I’m not sure how you feel about Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, but I love them. To have that flavor in a frozen yogurt form and then to top it with Reese’s Pieces and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup is what dreams are made of and I got to do just that, and then I went back for more! These two flavors will continue to be served at Yogurtland locations throughout the month of February.
It was such an extraordinary experience walking around the headquarters, looking at their wall of retired yogurts, meeting Phillip Chang, Yogurtland’ s Founder, CEO and President and winning the best prize ever, a giant Yogurtland Spoon, which I am taking to Yogurtland on my next visit.
What I enjoyed the most about our experience, next to eating all the yogurt I could eat, was talking to the Flavorologist. It’s fascinating learning about what it takes to make Yogurtland quality frozen yogurt. Their secret ingredient is real, as in real milk and fresh-cut fruit from their original location. At any time, Yogurtland stores have up to 16 flavors frozen yogurt. The Flavorologist work anywhere from 6 to 8 month on a new flavor before it is launched, which means that we as consumers can consistently look forward to something new.
Yogurtland strives to provide high-quality products to all its customers including those with dietary restrictions. At any given time, there are low-fat and non-fat flavors available as well as at least one tart flavor, one dairy-free flavor (which is popular for people who are lactose intolerant), and some gluten-free options. Make sure to contact your local Yogurtland to see what they have on hand being that they change flavors often.
On a side note, I was so pleased to have my young daughter learn about the scientific process of flavoring from the two female Flavorologist. In a world that celebrates 15 minutes of fame, I find it difficult for my daughter to have positive role models to inspire her. The focus seems to be on a women’s outer appearance instead of her brilliance, her mind. I truly feel that after talking to two highly intelligent scientific minds (who also happened to be beautiful), a little spark ignited in my daughter’s brain. Selfishly I would love for her to work at Yogurtland as Flavorologist, that way I would insist on being her guinea pig.
