La Jolla Strand Beach
We stayed in La Jolla as a guest of the Hyatt
While staying at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla, I wanted to visit a beach that didn’t have the crowds that La Jolla Shores and La Jolla Cove have. The staff at the hotel recommended we visit La Jolla Strand Beach for the afternoon, and it was one of the most beautiful beaches I have visited.
Since the beach isn’t overcrowded, parking is easy at La Jolla Strand Beach. We parked our car and carried our beach gear for just a few steps until finding a perfect intimate cove to spend the afternoon together as a family. There are lots of various rock formations along the cliffs that carve out the beach creating a lot of places for families to feel like they have the beach all to themselves.
We set-up our beach gear for the day, and went exploring. We climbed over rock formations, touched baby crabs, watched the waves crash on the rocks, and strengthened our family bond. The beach had surfers that my children enjoyed watching, calm waves, and lots of tide pools to explore.
We didn’t have to worry about leaving the relaxing beach to have lunch at a restaurant because we were able to order a picnic lunch at the Hyatt to bring with us. The sandwiches were tasty, and my husband, and I enjoyed them while holding onto the memories of watching our children frolic in the ocean waters.
While at the beach, our kids got to see sea lions swimming around them. It was a moment that they will never forget. They got to dig for sand crabs and build sand castles. It was a perfect day in La Jolla. When your family is planning your trip to the Hyatt Regency La Jolla, make plans to spend the day at La Jolla Strand Beach. La Jolla Strand Beach is located along Neptune Place in La Jolla.
