Lego fans will be thrilled to hear that LEGOLAND® California Resort will be unveiling the world’s largest LEGO model…the LEGO Star Wars X-wing Starfighter.  The X-wing Starfighter will make its appearance in Carlsbad on June 13, 2013.

The 1:1 replica was previosuly unveiled in New York’s Times Square by the LEGO Group.  The actual X-wing that will come to LEGOLAND California is made of five million LEGO bricks.  A team of 32 Master Model Builders spent more than 17,000 hours constructing this masterpiece.

The stats on this impressive X-wing Starfighter LEGO replica?

Five million bricks have to weight a lot, right?  How about more than 45,000 pounds of a lot?  It is eleven feet tall and 43 feet long, with a wingspan just a tad longer at 44 feet.

The exciting news for Southern California is that the X-wing is making the trip across the country to the LEGOLAND California Resort and it will be on display there for guests to enjoy throughout the remainder of 2013.

The X-wing will be right at home in the existing LEGOStar Wars Miniland Model Display, which features scenes from the six live-action Star Wars movies and one from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.  This impressive display is made with more than one and a half million LEGO bricks.  The 1:20 scale feature is very popular among visitors to LEGOLAND California.

Remember, the X-wing Starfighter will make its appearance at LEGOLAND California on June 13, 2013.
