Families are invited to experience a rich cultural celebration at Disney California Adventure for a spectacular Lunar New Year Celebration. The celebration continues until February 22nd with entertainment, food, crafts and more from 11am to 5pm.
The highlight of the celebration is the live entertainment. Nobody does entertainment better than Disney, and the live show is colorful, bright and cheerful. Children can dance along with the ribbon twirlers, blow a kiss to Mulan or watch the giant blue dragon dance. The performance takes place directly in front of Paradise Gardens.
Chinese Brush Painting & Calligraphy
Guests can have the artist, Agnes Eng, write their name or special message in Chinese Calligraphy. The pieces of art are a special keepsake for guests to bring home from the celebration.
New Year Wishes
Small pieces of red paper are provided to write down your wishes for peace, happiness and good fortune in the New Year. Once you’ve written down your wish, hand the wish on the display for everyone to see.
Unleash your creativity while adding colors to the complimentary paper lanterns. The Cerritos Chinese School is happy to assist families in putting the lanterns together. After decorating your lantern, take it home to display in your home during the holiday.
Character Meet and Greet
Mickey and Minnie are all dressed-up for the celebration and ready to take photos with your family. Don’t forget to bring your camera and autograph book!
Get into the spirit of the celebration by having your face painted. A talented artist will bring your imagination to life through a painting on your cheek or hand.
It wouldn’t be a celebration without authentic food offerings. There is a food cart that offers Pork Bao, almond cookies or Lunar New Year sourdough bread.
The Lunar New Year celebration at Disney California Adventure Park is located in Paradise Gardens at Disney California Adventure. Don’t miss celebrating this special holiday at the Happiest Place on Earth until February 22nd.
