Lunar New Year Memories at Universal Studios
We visited as a guest of Universal
Lunar New Year celebrations are happening across the Southland, and families are invited to celebrate the holiday this year at Universal Studios Hollywood. The festive celebration of the Year of the Rooster is happening at Universal Plaza until February 5th with character meet and greets activities, and more.
Character Meet and Greets
One of the coolest parts of the Lunar New Year celebration at Universal Studios Hollywood are the character meet and greets. My kids were thrilled to interact with a Mandarin-speaking Megatron from Transformers. We also got to take a keepsake photo with Woody the Woodpecker who was dressed in his Lunar New Year attire. There is also opportunities to meet Po and Tigress from Kung Fu Panda, and Curious George.
When your family first arrives at Universal Plaza for the celebration, you’ll be invited to write your wish for the New Year on a red card. Then you can find the perfect place on one of the many wishing trees to hang up your New Year wish.
The Plaza is beautifully decorated for the celebration with beautiful plum blossoms and Chinese lanterns. The plaza is the perfect place to capture a keepsake family photo to remember the Lunar New Year
While visiting Universal Studios Hollywood, your family can enjoy the cultural cuisine at Universal CityWalk’s newest restaurant, Dongpo Kitchen. The family-friendly restaurant has indoor/outdoor seating and signature dishes like Dongpo fried noodles, roasted duck salad, spicy chicken.
Universal Studios Hollywood offers the studio tour in Mandarin at select times throughout the day.
Don’t miss celebrating the Lunar New Year at Universal Studios Hollywood until February 5th. The celebration is included with the price of admission. Tickets are available online.
