Magical Music with Fantasia: Music Evolved
Review copy received
Disney’s Fantasia: Music Evolved is a Rhythm game from the same people who made RockBand. We surprised my son with a brand-new xbox one for his birthday along with the game Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved.
What I first noticed about the game was the amazing selection of music. Not only do you get to play with classical music, you also get to play with some modern contemporary music too. I love that they used both. It is wonderful to introduce children to a wide variety of music and Disney did this well with Fantasia: Music Evolved.
Once we opened the case and placed the disk in, we were met with a short update for the game. It only took two and a half minutes (yes I timed it).
After the update we were free to begin. We started with learning the basic moves of sweeps and punches and then later how to hold the tune in the circular spot you are supposed to keep it in. My 7 year old found this a little tough, but my 10 year old and I found the more we played the better we got at it. Not to toot my own horn, but I did quite well on the harder selections which made my kids giggle and cheer.
This game is one that can be played with 1 or 2 people and you must have an xbox one and kinect to play. The age rating is E Everyone 10+ which I believe is due to the lyrics in some of the songs. I was not worried and felt comfortable with my 7 year old playing the game.
During game play you are sweeping and punching your hands to make and conduct music. You really do start to feel like Sorcerer Mickey in Fantasia! This gave my arms a good workout – which I loved. If you have played games like Just Dance, you will understand the arm workout. You do not need a ton of room to play this game because you are only swinging your arms around and not moving all around.
Another amazing aspect of this game is the sounds and different mixes you can make and record. The songs have different mixes, so you may like some more than others. There are more than 30 songs and 60+ mixes, so you should not get bored with this game. Even my toddler was dancing around and moving his arms up and down in his playpen to play along with us. He had the biggest smile watching us move our arms all around.
This game is packed full of beauty and magic that only Disney can produce. Disney lovers and anyone who appreciates music will enjoy this game. The more we play the game the more we love it.
If you enjoy Disney and love Fantasia you will want to own this game. The movements in this game are flawless too. My family has had hours of fun playing and I look forward to many more hours of fun playing. This game is available for purchase online and in stores that carry other xbox one titles. The game includes 3 free song downloads including “Let it Go” by Demi Lovato.
Win it! Our friend over at Adrienne’s House is giving away a copy of the game. Good luck!
