Organic and Clean Eating at Green2Go in Brea
We dined as a guest of the venue
I am always looking for a place to bring my children out to eat that makes their food with whole “real” ingredients and has a wide variety of healthy dining options. One of my friends has been raving about Green2Go in Brea for months, and during the holiday break, I decided to stop in for lunch with my kids.
The restaurant is located in a popular shopping center in the heart of Brea and has large indoor and outdoor seating. When we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted by one of the owners who told us about their specials and helped walk us through their menu.
There is something for everyone at Green2Go. There are vegetarian, vegan, and meat options at their restaurant. The best part is everything is made with real ingredients – no preservatives or additives in any of their food. The one thing that I loved about their menu is that their burgers are made with grass-fed beef which is rare to find in restaurants.
The one thing on the menu that caught my daughters eye was the tri tip tacos. The tacos were large and inside of each tortilla was a healthy serving of kale slaw, guacamole, and Pico de gallo. My daughter devoured every last bite of the tacos, and she couldn’t stop talking about how flavorful they were.
With my son having a corn allergy, he often gets stomach issues when eating meat that isn’t grass fed. Since it is rare to find grass fed beef on a restaurant menu, he has mostly become a vegetarian. When he noticed there was grass fed burgers on the menu, he immediately knew that was what he wanted to order for lunch. The mouthwatering burger was juicy, and the bun was soft and fluffy. It was one of the best burgers he has ever had while dining out.
My little one is a macaroni and cheese lover, and he fell in love with the macaroni and cheese at Green2Go. The dish was made with gluten-free pasta, organic milk, and cheese. There is a significant flavor difference between macaroni and cheese made with organic ingredients vs. preservatives, and you can’t leave Green2Go without trying a bite!
I was in the mood for a salad, and the organic ‘Bob’s Cobb’ caught my eye on the menu. The salad featured fresh farm greens, organic roasted chicken, bacon, farm eggs, tomatoes, guacamole, blue cheese and a gluten-free vinaigrette. The salad was light, flavorful, and tantalized my taste buds.
We ended lunch by sharing an organic chocolate flourless cake with organic berries and vanilla bean ice cream. It was the perfect ending to our epicurean adventure at Green2Go.
I had brought home a loaf of homemade banana bread that my children loved. I wish that I lived closer to Green2Go so that I could purchase a loaf of their banana bread every week.
