Summer Fun at Tenaya Lodge

We visited as a guest of the venue

Tenaya Lodge is our favorite place to create family memories. We have visited many times during the winter months and had yet to visit during the summer until recently. While on a weekend getaway to Yosemite, we drove our Kia Sorento to Tenaya Lodge to enjoy some of their fun summer activities.

We started our day at Tenaya by having lunch and swimming in their large pool. Tenaya has a beautiful pool area complete with a family pool, adult pool, and toddler pool. It is nice and spread out so that families don’t feel cramped when visiting during the peak summer months.

After getting settled in our cabana for the day, the server came over to take our lunch order. There are a wide variety of drink and food options at the Tenaya Lodge pool so that there is something for everyone in your family to enjoy.

We started lunch by ordering the nachos. There is something about poolside nachos that can’t be beaten. The nachos were huge, and the chips came topped with a large serving of cheese, jalapeños, chicken, olives, guacamole and sour cream. The kids savored every last bite of the delicious dish.

My husband was in the mood for something simple, and he ordered the BLTA sandwich. The classic sandwich satisfied his taste buds on the warm summer afternoon. Having had the taco salad wrap before on a previous trip, I couldn’t wait to have it again. The wrap features tomatoes, olives, avocado, cabbage, tortilla strips, lettuce, beans, cotija cheese, and a chipotle-tomato vinaigrette.

After lunch, our family enjoyed swimming in the refreshing pool. Our kids played with the water features in the toddler pool, swam on pool floats, and played a game of Marco Polo. It was hard to get the kids out of the pool for anything until I mentioned archery!

My younger son has been taking archery lessons at his school for the past year, and he was thrilled to learn that they had archery at Tenaya Lodge. He quickly dried off from the pool and put his shoes on to experience archery. They have an excellent archery range at Tenaya, and there was an instructor to help ensure that my kids were safe and were using the equipment properly. It was a highlight of our trip.

Just when the kids thought it couldn’t get any more fun, I surprised them with some time on the rock wall. The kids had a blast climbing the wall over and over again.

Our family didn’t want the day to end, but unfortunately, the sun began to set, and we had our Kia Sorento brought up to the valet so that we could leave to explore more of Yosemite. When looking for somewhere to have endless summer fun surrounded by beautiful nature, Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite is just the place. Reservations are available online or by calling 888-514-2167.
