Sun and Sunsets at The Inn at Laguna Beach
We stayed as a guest of the resort
Our favorite place to have weekend staycations is in Laguna Beach. When planning our recent Laguna Beach getaway, we made plans to stay at the highly acclaimed Inn at Laguna Beach. I have seen the hotel many times while walking along Main Beach or driving down PCH, and I couldn’t wait to stay and experience the resort.
I picked up my kids early from school on a Friday afternoon and took them down to Laguna Beach. I parked my car in the resort parking lot and walked down to Main Beach to look at the tide pools. The tide was low, and it was the perfect time to see all the beautiful sea life living in the tide pools on Main Beach.
After splashing our toes in the ocean, we walked across the street from The Inn at Laguna Beach for lunch at Urth Caffe. I had wanted to dine at Urth Cafe for quite awhile, and our staycation was the perfect excuse. We dined on their outdoor patio, and I sipped on a latte while letting the stresses of daily life drift away.
While we were having lunch, I got a call from the resort that our room was ready for us to check-in. We walked across the street, and into the luxe lobby where the staff quickly checked us into the resort. We took the elevator up to our ocean front room where we would spend the weekend relaxing and reconnecting together as a family.
Our room was spacious and had a large balcony that overlooked the crystalline ocean waters. Within minutes, our children had changed into their swimsuits and were on their way down to the pool. The pool was heated to the perfect temperature for my children to enjoy swimming throughout the afternoon.
Later that evening, we went to the rooftop of the resort where we enjoyed a complimentary wine hour, and the kids savored sweet cookies and milk. We watched the sunset from one of the best views in Laguna Beach, and it was one of my favorite memories from our trip.
We ended our evening with a delicious dinner at Las Brisas before returning to our room for the evening. My children drifted off to sleep to the sounds of crashing waves and their hearts full of magical memories from the day.
The next morning, we awoke to the rays of the sun twinkling in our room. My daughter went onto the balcony and began drawing in her sketch book. It was a peaceful way to spending the morning after a relaxing evening in our hotel room.
We then walked along Main Beach where our children took pictures with the Laguna Beach “bird man” played at the park and then we had breakfast at Zinc Cafe. It was a relaxing Saturday spent together as a family at the most beautiful places in Orange County. When thinking about planning a weekend getaway, make reservations to have an unforgettable staycation at The Inn at Laguna Beach.
