Ten Best Dishes at Disney’s Food and Wine Festival
We attended a preview as a guest of Disney
It is the most delicious time of the year to bring your family to Disney California Adventure Park for an epicurean adventure at the 2017 Food and Wine Festival. The festival features delicious cuisine, food demonstrations, entertainment, and more. There is something for everyone to enjoy at the festival and these are our top ten must-have dishes when attending the food and wine festival.
Smoked Bacon Mac & Cheese
One of the all-time best macaroni and cheese dishes that I have ever enjoyed was this one at Disney California Adventure Park. The dish features creamy macaroni and cheese topped with pieces of smoked bacon and barbecue-seasoned crispy onions. You can’t just have one bite! This dish is available at the Bacon Twist Kiosk for $7.50.
Maple-Bacon Whoopie Pie
A fan favorite from last year, this dish made a return to the festival. It is the perfect flavor combination of sweet and savory that melts in your mouth with every bite. This dessert is available at the Bacon Twist kiosk for $4.25.
Duck Confit on Potato Smash
This dish features a large serving of duck with a hint of lemon. The duck came on a bed of smashed potatoes and topped with a sour cream, corn and parsley. It is available at the Lemon Grove kiosk for $7.00.
Bay Shrimp Louie Salad
The salad comes served in a cute mini Boudin Sourdough Bowl. It comes with a large serving of seafood, and the flavors exploded in my mouth with every bite. It is available at the Sweet and Sourdough kiosk for $6.75.
Grilled Beef Tenderloin Slider
This slider comes with a large piece of beef tenderloin topped with chimichurri sauce and pickled red onions inside of a soft bun. The meat was tender, juicy, and the flavor combination was pure perfection. It is available at the Garlic Kissed kiosk for $7.75.
Braised Wagyu Beef on Creamy Polenta
If you’re a meat eater, then you’re going to fall in love with this dish. It comes with a bed of creamy polenta topped with braised wagyu beef, roasted cipollini onion, and a Haricot Vert-Red onion salad. What I loved the most about this dish is that it features Melissa’s Produce. It is available at the The Onion Lair kiosk for $7.75.
Chicken Teriyaki Slider
Two of my favorite foods come together with the Chicken Teriyaki Slider – pineapple and chicken. The slider has a sweet flavoring that is pure deliciousness. The chicken is topped with a spicy Dole Pineapple Jam (not too spicy for children) and is inside of a soft bun. It is available at the LA Style kiosk for $6.50.
Korean BBQ Beef Short Rib Tacos
Another one of my favorite dishes during the festival is the Korean BBQ beef short rib tacos. The tacos feature a large serving of beef that is paired to perfection with a Kimchi Slaw. The dish is large enough for two people to share. It’s available at the LA Style kiosk for $7.00.
Fried Artichoke Carbonara
If you love artichokes, then you’re going to love this dish. It features fried artichokes, topped with smoked bacon and a garlic aioli sauce. It is available at the I <3 Artichokes kiosk and is priced at $6.00.
Chilled Cioppino Soup with Shrimp, Crab Claw, and Grilled Olive Bread
The cioppino was one of the best of the festival. It was very flavorful, and the size of the seafood was impressive. I recommend getting an order of Warm Olive Focaccia to go along with this dish. It is available at the Olive Us kiosk and is priced at $7.75 ($4.50 for the focaccia).
There are also a large variety of beers and wine available during the festival. If you’re planning on drinking, make sure to come in an uber or have a designated driver. Don’t miss sinking your taste buds into these culinary masterpieces that are available at Disney California Adventure Park until April 16th at the Food and Wine Festival.
