Turks and Caicos Dream Tours Private Charter

Caicos Dream Tour Private Charter 8

After spending the day doing a Turks and Caicos Dream Tours 1/2 day group charter, we found that the experience was not like it was back in 2008. Since the group was large, we were unable to dive for our own conch and it did not include a visit to Fort St. George Island like we did the last time we visited. Once our 1/2 day charter was done, we talked with the owner and planned a private charter for our family the following day to have the intimate experiences that we had the last time that we traveled to the Turks and Caicos.

Our kids had bonded with a couple of the staff members from the charter boat, and they were thrilled when they greeted us the next morning with their boat on the beach in front of our resort. We boarded the boat, and set off for an epic day exploring the waters around the Turks and Caicos.

We started by going to the channel where the conch are breeding. Since it was just our family and two staff members, they carefully helped us into the channel waters to dive for our own conch. The current was strong, but the staff took care in ensuring our entire family was safe in the waters where millions of conch were hiding under layers of seaweed.

After we dove for our conch, we searched for sea life. Our kids got to see a baby turtle, star fish, and a sting ray as the boat slowly glided across the crystal clear water.

Then we got an opportunity to go to the other side of the island to do some snorkeling. This is not the normal spot where most tour boats stop so we got an opportunity to see undisturbed sea life, and the staff helped to teach my daughter how to free dive  through the various sea caves.

When we were done snorkeling, we spent time sliding off the slide on the back of the boat, and doing flips and tricks off the roof of the boat. The kids squealed with delight every time they jumped off the boat into the deep ocean waters.

Fort St George Island -2

Then it was time for the highlight of our trip where our family got an opportunity to visit Fort St. George (Fort George Cay) “Sand Dollar Island.” We had the entire island to ourselves as we explored the large sand bar while discovering the beautiful hidden treasures – sand dollars.

While our family was creating unforgettable memories together, the staff was cooking us a lobster lunch and freshly made conch salad with the conch we had caught earlier in the morning.

When it was time for the boat to head back, the crew members attached a rope to the back of the boat and our kids jumped on a five person inner tube. The kids laughed and screamed while riding the inner tube back to our resort.

When planning a visit to the Turks and Caicos, reserving a private charter with Caicos Dream Tours is worth it. Your family will have an experience unlike anyone else on the island.

When to book:
Due to weather and children, I recommend reserving a charter after arriving on the island. Talk to your concierge about the best day (weather) to plan an outing. I also recommend going in the early morning to have the calmest waters.

Cost:
The cost is $1,100. We were given a discount of $900 since we had done a 1/2 day charter the day before.
