Visiting the Cabazon Dinosaurs
When traveling to Palm Springs, the best place to take a pit stop on your road trip is to visit the Cabazon Dinosaurs. After our family had an epic weekend at the Rancho Las Palmas in Rancho Mirage, we stopped to visit the giant dinosaurs before having lunch at the nearby in-n-out.
From the moment that the kids spotted the giant dinosaurs from the freeway, they were screaming with delight. My husband and older son started reciting their favorite lines from Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, and when we took the first step out of the car, we were in awe.
We were all amazed at how massive the dinosaurs are in real life, and the kids were eager to run up the stairs inside of the dinosaur. Inside of the giant dinosaur is a gift shop where families can purchase toys, t-shirts or souvenirs. This is also a place where families can purchase tickets to go see the Dinosaur museum. (Admission is $7.95 Adults, $6.95 Children, $6.00 Military with ID and Senior Citizens, 2 and under Free)
There is a picnic bench under one of the dinosaurs if your family has a picnic lunch to eat on the way home; otherwise, there is an in-n-out right down the street for lunch.
The Cabazon dinosaurs was of the highlight of our family vacation to Palm Springs, and I recommend taking the time to stop when heading out to the desert with your family this summer.
The Cabazon Dinosaurs can be found at 50770 Seminole Drive in Cabazon.
