For most families, summer can bring beautiful weather, sandy beaches and endless days at the pool. However, one aspect of summer can often be overlooked: drowning.

This last April, Orange County Fire Authority statistics show drownings begin to escalate from now through summer. In 2015 alone, there have already been four near-drownings and six deaths. Last year, there was an average of a drowning every nine days. So, to help prevent drownings, especially amongst children, below are a few favorite swim school parent picks that focus on water safety.
