If you plan to spend 15 days or less, then do make sure that you have an eNRI visa or eNRI note under the visa waiver program of the Malaysian government.

However, no matter where you go, it’s important to ensure that you have a travel insurance policy to protect you in case of uncertainties like falling sick or in case of an unfortunate accident in a foreign country.

If you travel without one, you might have to spend an exorbitant amount of money if something unfortunate happens.

Types of Malaysian Visas

  1. Single Entry Visa: This is valid for 3 months and is intended for individuals who wish to enter the country on a social visit and is mostly preferred by tourists.
  2. Multiple Entry Visa: Multiple entry visas are issued for 3 to 12 months is intended for individuals who wish to visit the country for business or government matters.
  3. Transit Visa: This is issued to travelers requiring a visa to enter and stay in Malaysia before moving on to another destination country. However, in case a foreign national needs to make the transit without leaving the airport, then such a visa isn’t required.
  4. Transit without Visa: This is less common among travelers since it requires the exclusive permission of Malaysian immigration. If you get the permission, you can stop over for a maximum of 120 hours in the country.
