We visited as a guest of the venue

It’s November which means that we’re already dove into the holidays.  Thanksgiving is only a few days away and in about a month it Christmas!  If you are anything like me, you are checking all the blogs to see where to go to see lights.  Tonight I was invited to the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort to preview their 25th Annual Lighting of the Bay!

Let me tell ya if you haven’t been then you must come out and see what they have in store for you.  The 3 day celebration with begin Friday November 27th at 3 pm with Live Performances by OC Children’s Song Group and Corona Del Mar High School Choir and then at 5:30 Santa Claus will paddle board in and flipping the giant light switch to illuminate the bay.

Festivities on Saturday November 28th will start at 10 am which includes a Boutique Craft Fair featuring more than 1,000 gift items, homemade crafts, antiques and collectibles. The 50 ton snow-filled winter wonderland opens at 11 am ready for families to sled and play in the snow.

You will also find a giant slide, ice sculpture of Santa as well as a chance to take a picture with Surfer Santa.  Families can also enjoy a puppet show at 11:30 as well as a special holiday movie at dusk.

Be sure to bring your beach towels, blankets and chairs! The festivities don’t end there, be sure to make reservations at the critically acclaimed Back Bay Bistro as they debut their Holiday Brunch and also get a surprise visit from the one and only Santa!
