7 Thirst-Quenching Drinks Every Summer Party Should Have

Summer parties are all the rage nowadays, but what’s a good party without some amazing beverages to keep everyone cool. The heat is most probably blistering after all. If you’re tasked with holding a party soon, then here are a few summer beverages that you might want to serve to keep your guests cool and happy.

Punch

If there are going to be kids attending the party, then you should definitely punch. It’s a fruity party staple that’s always a safe bet when it comes to good beverages. You can use various fruits as the base of a good punch, but citrusy flavors like orange and grapefruit are both good starts.

It would be great if you can give people the option to choose between regular and alcoholic punch at the party. If you want to give your punch that alcoholic kick, you can add a dash of vodka to the mix, as this is a good way to spice things up without ruining the flavor completely.

Aam Panna

Mangos are the king of fruits, and they’re definitely always a good primary ingredient for a good summer beverage. One of the best beverages you can serve that has mango as the star is Aam Panna. This is a delicious beverage that uses mango pulp, cumin, jeera, and mint leaves.

Just blend all these together with some crushed ice, and you’ve got yourself a hit of a drink. According to the folks from Sipsy, you can add more flair to the drink by adding seltzers, which can give aam panna a nice kick. Serve it during a hot day and watch your guests instantly cool off.

Slushies

If the summer party is exclusively for the kids on the street, don’t forget to serve fruit-based slushies. These are going to keep them refreshed and excited all throughout the day. Even the young ones deserve some great beverages during hot seasons.

Mojito

When it comes to refreshing alcoholic beverages, one of the best that you can serve your guests is the classic mojito. It’s a mix of lime wedges, rum, mint leaves, sugar cubes, and a dash of rum served usually on crushed ice. It’s the perfect way to cool down. Especially during a party.

Mojitos are usually served in pitchers. What’s great about it is that it is very easy to make. You can even adjust the taste by adding more or less rum to balance out the sweetness of the sugar, tanginess of lime, with the robust flavors of rum. Make sure to use fresh mint leaves for a stronger cooling flavor.

Lemonade

As they say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade! What better way to cool off in the summer than with a tall glass of lemonade. It’s already a tried and tested way of cooling off already. It’s just a mix of freshly squeezed lemon, sugar, and water. It’s all really up to you how you want to make it.

You can make this summer party staple even more refreshing by adding a kick of mint or soda to the mix. Just make sure to dial down on the sugar when adding soda, as lemonade can be a bit overpowering if you don’t hold back on the sweetness.

Coconut Water

Coconuts are the unofficial fruit of the summer season. You can’t think of glistening beaches without being reminded of coconut trees. This is why you should consider serving coconut water during your summer party. It’s refreshing, unique, and most importantly, tasty!

A lot of people tend to throw out coconut meat when serving the juice. This is a big mistake. The meat itself can be a good source of flavor. Scoop out all of the meat,  slice it into very thin strips, and then add it to the coconut water. It can add depths of flavor and texture to this classic beverage.

Long Island Iced Tea

Iced tea is already a good way to cool off on its own. However, it does get boring at times. You can spice things up by making it into Long Island iced tea. How do you ask? It’s actually very easy.

Just make your iced tea the way that you used to. Now, add a hard liquor at the end. People usually use vodka, gin, rum, or tequila. It’s really up to you what you want to add. If you want to make it extra fruity, use fruit-based hard liquors such as vodka cranberry or apple brandy.
These summer beverages are destined to keep your guests happy for that upcoming summer party. There are many other recipes to try out there. What’s important is that you add both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to your menu so that people get the freedom of choice!
