Posted by on Apr 11, 2018 in Ballet, Entertainment | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of the venue Cinderella is a classic fairy tale, and it also happens to be one of my favorite fairy tales ever. I have seen Cinderella in many different forms of production including musical theater, ballet, hip-hop, movies, etc. But, I think ballet is one of my favorite forms to watch this story told is through ballet. I have seen many ballets of Cinderella before, and they were all amazing, but seeing it performed by the Maple Conservatory of Dance at the Irvine Barclay Theatre & Cheng Hall has one has to be one of my favorites. I already knew I was going to like it when I started reading the program and saw a few familiar names. As soon as the first act started, I was immersed in an entirely different version of...

My older brother and I shared some of our favorite Incredibles quotes on the way to THe Disney Studio Lot to watch the film. My older brother was even more excited than I was to see the movie because he has been waiting for two more years than I have. A New Twist on Pastrami: Pretzelrami at Togo’s

Posted by on Jun 6, 2018 in Dining, Family | 0 comments

We dined as a guest of the venue When I was going to college, Togo’s was a place I would go to at least twice a week a hot pastrami sandwich. Togo’s has a lot of great sandwich and salad choices, but a good pastrami sandwich done right is hard find, especially at a regular sandwich chain. With Togo’s, the biggest problem I have is where I live. The nearest location is about 15 miles away making other sandwich shops more desirable just because of faster drive to them. With this, I had not been to a Togo’s in quite some time. I saw that Togo’s changed their Pastrami Sandwich, calling it the Pretzelrami Sandwich, so I had to go in and try one. I googled locations and found one that was closer than I thought, so I made...

I started doing some research and learned how important it is for men to manage their cholesterol beginning at a young age. While doing my research, I had the pleasure of talking with Dr. Lucio Loza at Kaiser Permanente about what you need to know about cholesterol and tips for managing it. One thing that I didn’t realize before talking with Dr. Loza is that one of the most significant dangers of high cholesterol is cardiovascular disease. Most of the time, when you have high cholesterol, you don’t have any symptoms, and you won’t know you have it unless having it checked. Dr. Loza advised me that unfortunately, most people find out...

While in Los Angeles earlier this month, I had the honor of meeting with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and got to talk to her about what it was like being a droid in the new hit film. Before meeting with Phoebe Waller-Bridge, I had heard that she didn’t know very much about Star Wars before being cast for the film. When asking her about it, she said, “I did know about Star Wars, but I hadn’t seen any of the films. I think there’s like, five of us in the world.” She continued to share with us that she felt like it worked in her favor. “I was very loose...

Joonas Suotamo: The Face Behind the Fur

Posted by on May 23, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney When you think of Chewbacca, what comes to mind? A warm cuddly creature from the world of Star Wars? But, there is a human behind all that fur and kindness, and in Solo: A Star Wars Story, it is Joonas Suotamo. Every little boy dreams of being Chewbacca, my boys especially, so when I told them I was going to meet the man, the myth, the legend, behind Chewbacca in Solo: A Star Wars Story….they almost fainted. The one thing that stood out to me about Joonas Suotamo is that he is not your traditional actor. When looking for someone to play the part of Chewbacca, they apparently needed someone tall, so the director seemed to our local pro basketball teams to find. “I got the role out of the...

Solo: A Star Wars Story: Paul Bettany

Posted by on May 22, 2018 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney While in Los Angeles interviewing the cast of Solo: A Star Wars Story there was one actor that clearly stood out from all the rest, and that was Paul Bettany. One of my colleagues had fallen and was on crutches, as many of you know, we always take a group photo, and Paul Bettany was the only one of the actors who offered his seat (the only seat) to my friend. When he did that, he immediately became my favorite actor in the film. Not only is Paul Bettany a great guy in real life, but he also steals the show with his epic performance in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Star Wars was a big part of Paul Bettany life growing up, and he was beyond thrilled to be...

Ron Howard on Solo: A Star Wars Story

Posted by on May 21, 2018 in Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney One of the best things about the all-new Star Wars film Solo: A Star Wars Story is that the highly acclaimed Ron Howard directs it. I had the honor of getting to spend some time with Ron Howard talking about the making of the film while in Los Angeles last week. For being such a talented director, the one thing that makes Ron Howard so unique is how down to earth and relatable he is. Like with any Star Wars film, there was a lot of responsibility on everyone who worked on the film, especially Ron Howard. For Ron Howard, it was the pressure of making sure Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo) would deliver the performance that would “wow” Star Wars fans. Howard knew that there was already some judgment surrounding...

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney After having the incredible opportunity of meeting Alden Ehrenreich who plays the role of Han Solo in Solo: A Star Wars Story, we got a chance to sit down and talk with Emilia Clarke who plays the role of Qi’ra in the film. Emilia Clarke is very well known for her role in the popular television series Game of Thrones. When she entered the room where 25 other bloggers were awaiting her arrival, everyone in the room clapped and cheered with excitement about having the unique opportunity to speak with her. The biggest question on everyone’s mind was when did she become a Star Wars fan? Clarke wasn’t born when the first Star Wars film was released, but her brother was a huge fan. She shared with us that when...

Posted by on May 17, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

We attended the interview as a guest of Disney The day after attending the world premiere of Solo: A Star Wars Story, I went to the Griffith Observatory along with another group of bloggers. While admiring the beautiful Los Angeles skyline, a family approached the blogger Summer Len Davis from Dirty Floor Diaries to take their family photo. While she was taking their picture, she learned that it was the family of Alden Ehrenreich who plays Han Solo in the movie Solo: A Star Wars Story. It was such a weird coincidence considering we would be interviewing their son the next morning. We talked about their son and the film for a bit before parting ways. The next morning when Alden Ehrenreich entered the room, the first thing he said was, “How many of you met my mom?” We...

Journey to a Galaxy Far, Far Away in Solo: A Star Wars Story

Posted by on May 16, 2018 in Disney, Entertainment, Film | 0 comments

I attended a screening as a guest of Disney Growing up, I was a super girly girl. But there was one thing that this girly girl loved as a child, and that was watching Star Wars with her daddy. Star Wars was a big part of my childhood, just like most of my generation. When I found out that LucasFilm would continue to make Star Wars movies, I was worried that they would not be as good as the classics. I go into seeing every film with an open mind, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect before seeing Solo: A Star Wars Story, and the film blew my mind. The movie was full of adventure, heart, and is true storytelling at its best. The one thing that I loved most about Solo: A Star Wars Story is...

Exclusive Look Behind-the-Scenes of General Hospital

Posted by on May 15, 2018 in Entertainment, Featured, Television Shows | 0 comments

We attended as a guest of Disney While I was pregnant with my youngest son, I was put on bed rest very early on in the pregnancy. Being stuck in bed for 16 weeks, I watched a lot of television, and one of my favorite shows to watch every day was General Hospital. Every afternoon, I would look forward to seeing what was happening in Port Charles. I continued to watch it daily while caring for my baby, but as he got active, I found myself having to record and then watch a week full of episodes during the weekend. Being such a fan of the show, I was thrilled when I was given the opportunity to visit the set of General Hospital. The morning that I was going to be visiting, I was overwhelmed with excitement. I couldn’t...
