A Taste of Hawaii at Ono Hawaiian BBQ

We visited as a guest of the venue

My family loves Hawaii and misses everything about it.  It’s been 350 days since we left and we can’t wait for our next trip back.

To ease the pain and sadness, we try to bring a bit of Hawaii into our daily lives.  My daughter takes Hula lessons, my son is learning to play the ukulele, my husband wears Hawaiian print loungewear, and I buy Hawaiian scented candles.  What our family loves to do together, to take us back to our days in paradise, is eat.

When Ono Hawaiian BBQ invited us in for a tasting, we immediately said ‘yes’ and drove to Buena Park for a little taste of Hawaii.

Brightly lit with Hawaiian accents here and there, Ono Hawaiian BBQ took me back to North Shore.  My family ordered a bit of everything including our favorite item on the menu, fresh coconut milk in the coconut.  There aren’t many places that you can get that from so it was such a treat to have the refreshing nectar straight out of its shell.

As we waited for our order, I sipped the milk reminiscing back to my days in the warm sun, before I knew it our dinner was ready.  Our food was made fresh to order, and everything tasted as amazing as it looked.

Our family savored every bite of the delicious food while sharing our favorite memories from spending time in Hawaii. If your family is dreaming of paradise, I recommend bringing them for a taste of the islands at Ono. It is guaranteed to be a meal that your family will remember forever.

Ono Hawaiian has locations all across Southern California to find the one closest to you, be sure to visit their website at www.onohawaiianbbq.com and bring a little bit of Hawaii into your world.

I’m an OC mom of two and photographer. I love living in Southern California and want to expose my children to all that it offers. I love taking my kids on adventures and capturing their every moment so much so that my kids find it odd if I don’t take their pictures. You can see my work on facebook.com/photosbynaz.
