Al Fresco Dining at Center 360

We dined as a guest of the venue

One of the biggest additions to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, when the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza opened, is Center 360 cafe. Located right in the heart of the center is a beautiful outdoor dining venue where families can savor delicious cuisine before seeing a performance at the Segerstrom Center or just during an afternoon out and about.

When Center 360 first opened a couple of weeks ago, our family couldn’t wait to sample some of the food. Seeing performances at the Segerstrom Center is one of our favorite family activities, and knowing that there is another great dining option along with Leatherby’s Cafe Rouge had me beyond thrilled.

The first thing that caught my eye on the menu was the grilled skirt steak salad. Steak salads are one of my favorite things to enjoy for lunch, and I am always on the hunt for a new tasty steak salad around Orange County. Their steak salad featured mixed organic greens, grilled onion, candied walnuts, bell peppers, blue cheese, sweet corn, garlic croutons and a balsamic vinaigrette. The salad was fresh, light and the flavor combination was perfect.

While I was enjoying my light and fresh salad, it was the burger that tantalized my husband’s taste buds. The mouthwatering juicy burger came cooked to perfection. It was topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onion, JBS special sauce, and topped with a brioche bun. My husband decided to add a fried egg to the burger which made it pure perfection. The best part about the burger is the price. It is priced at only $8!!

My daughter decided to try something a little different and ordered the OC street tacos. The dish featured three tacos filled with freshly cooked al pastor (pork), roasted pineapple, cilantro, onion, and salsa. The tacos tasted just as fresh as they do off a street cart along the streets of Mexico, and she highly recommended them.

For my picky eater, we ordered him the flatbread. I was expecting the flatbread to come in a small serving, but when it arrived, it was almost the size of a medium pizza – large enough for 2-3 kids to share.

While we were dining, two of our friends enjoyed the chickpea falafel and sesame-togarashi crusted ahi tuna. Both of them couldn’t stop raving about how delicious these two dishes were.

Not only does Center 360 have a delicious lunch menu, but they also offer a performance menu and a killer breakfast menu. I have been craving a return to sink my tastebuds into their ‘favacado’ toast!

Center 360 is located right in the heart of the Julianne and George Argyros Plaza. It has a beautiful wrap around bar where guests can enjoy a cocktail before a performance and plenty of outdoor seating. When planning your next visit to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts or to go shopping at South Coast Plaza, I highly recommend visiting Center 360.
