Aladdin at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts
We attended the performance of Aladdin as a guest
Who doesn’t love a classic Disney movie turned into a Broadway production? With the lights, the costumes and the live acting there is something for everyone to enjoy. Aladdin is one of the most exciting Disney princess movies of all time (in my opinion,) so when seeing it performed on a stage, you can imagine the greatness.
I went to the theater with my mom, and we quickly took our seats. We waited for the show to begin. From the very second, the show started to the last second, the energy was always so high and never faltered. It had me singing along to every classic song during and after the show.
One thing that stood out to me in this production was the fantastic costumes! Every character was dressed to perfection. Even the sets were extraordinary — especially the “friend like me” song and dance. I was a little skeptical about creating that amazing scene on stage, but they did a fantastic job and blew me away.
Every character in the show had a fantastic voice, and once a song ended, I was waiting for the next one to begin. With every aspect, I was on the edge of my seat listening for the next amazing note that they would hit.
The tale of Aladdin is a classic and is known to many people. This Broadway version keeps this classic story while adding a little bit of different into it. I enjoyed getting to listen to the original soundtrack and watch the classic tale, but with their own little bits of comedy put in the show.
Don’t miss seeing Disney’s Aladdin at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts until March 23rd.
