All Things Boysenberry at the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival

We attended a media preview as a guest of Knott’s

Do you know what is just around the corner? It’s delicious, tart, sweet and all wrapped up in a ton of fun. Yes, it’s the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival! All things boysenberry with savory bites, sweet treats along with a variety of fun activities.

We most recently had the chance to sample some of the enticing boysenberry themed food and drinks that Knott’s will be serving during the festival. Like us, we think you’ll soon discover that a boysenberry can be creatively used in a variety of dishes.

Boysenberry Pierogies with boysenberries, sautéed onions, applewood smoked bacon and a dollop of boysenberry sour cream to top it off.

If you’re like us you’ll find comfort in the Slow Cooked Boysenberry Short Ribs that simply fall apart atop a bed of basmati rice; served with a lovely boysenberry hoisin sauce.

Remember to check out the perfectly crisp Chicken Wings with a mouth-watering boysenberry sauce.

While you’re making your way through the tasting of the Knott’s Boysenberry Festival, you can take a break to explore the many activities. Snoopy’s Boysenberry Jamboree will keep you entertained, or pop over to the participate in the pie eating contest.

If your little ones are feeling creative, Cordelia’s Pie Kitchen will let them make their own mini pies complete with crumbles or whipped topping. It made us want to be kids again and make pies.

You might be getting thirsty now, so you’ll be happy to know there are some great thirst quenchers. Calico Soda is a featured drink that all will enjoy! A combination of boysenberry syrup, vanilla syrup and some secret ingredients and we can’t tell you about, but it’s fun to watch them make your soda right in front of you. For the bigger kids, meaning you adults you’ll find fun, great drinks at the Calico Saloon; boysenberry beer, boysenberry cider, and boysenberry wine.

Now we all get a little sweet tooth now and then; and you’ll find many ways to cure that craving at this festival. Our all-time favorite two desserts or make that three were, the Deep Fried Cheesecake on a stick, dipped in a sweet boysenberry frosting; it’s off the charts amazing! Of course, a slice of the traditional Boysenberry Pie, full of childhood memories and goodness. There’s also a Boysenberry Pie Shake, unbelievable flavor that will satisfy any sweet tooth and it happens to come with its own mini pie slice as a garnish. So clever and fun!

If you’re like us and enjoy all things Boysenberry, we think you’ll have a great time at the annual Knott’s Boysenberry Festival. You can go spend a day at the park and then explore some boysenberry goodness. It’s really a ton of fun and will add to your experience of Knott’s.

The Boysenberry Festival runs from March 16th thru April 8th; grab your loved ones, your kiddo’s or your friends and go play in the land of all things Boysenberry. Remember the key is to have great fun!
