The American Girl Cafe in Los Angeles
We recently had the pleasure of the lunch experience at The Cafe at American Girl. Our American Girls, and their American Girl dolls, loved it!
American Girl has definitely perfected dining catered to kids with their cafe in Los Angeles. They supply high chairs and tea cups for all dolls, which my girls thought was pretty much the most fun ever. On every table is a box of fun conversation starters to spark a discussion that you might now otherwise think of. And at every turn they are bringing out a new little starter plate to nibble on, or a bubbly drink to enjoy out of a fancy glass!
The multi-course meal started the moment we sat down with miniature cinnamon buns for everyone. Shortly after that, our festive drinks arrived, followed by a crudités and cheese platter. Not long after than our entrée selections were delivered. The Cafe has a lovely selection for both kids and adults.
The highlight for my girls was dessert, not surprisingly. But this dessert was extra special because it was delivered with a happy birthday song to each of their dolls! Our dolls have many (many!) birthdays every year, but our waiter graciously humored the girls when they announced that it was all three of their dolls birthdays, yet again. He arrived singing with cupcakes, candles and happy birthday stickers!
While the food and service was wonderful, the highlight for me was the atmosphere American Girl cultivates. From the conversation starters on each table, to the focus on building an experience that young girls won’t soon forget, American Girl aims for a unique dining experience for girls and their families, just as described below in the story on the back of their menu.
It really is an experience that American Girl lovers of all ages will enjoy!
Brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner are available. Seating time last 60 minutes, and reservations are highly recommended. A sample menu and reservations can be viewed online.
After lunch, it was a treat to tour the store with our own personal shopper. She gave us history of American Girl and how their stores and dolls have evolved over the years.
The American Girl store at The Grove is an easy day trip from Orange County and is an experience your little American Girl lover will cherish for a lifetime. We’re all buckled up and headed back to OC, but we’ll most certainly be back!
