Anaheim Scrapbook Expo

You know those two little aisles of scrapbook supplies in Michaels? Well, think of an entire grocery store sized space filled to the brim with everything you need and thousands of items you’ve never before seen to get your craft on. Scrapbook Expo, the national premier show for scrapbookers, stampers, card makers, and crafting enthusiasts, is coming to the Anaheim Convention Center Thursday through Saturday, March 20-22 for three days of paper crafting fun.

With over 70 vendor companies exhibiting in almost 16,000 square feet of shopping space, there’s every product under the sun to spark your creativity. And it’s not just about shopping. You can bring your current scrapbook or stamping project and “crop” all day until midnight each day. Thursday and Saturday crops are sold out, but Friday still as a few spaces left to grab. There’s also a large variety of one hour to one and a half hour classes (called workshops) where you can learn great techniques such as coloring with alcohol markers, using embossing folders in card making, and many others.

The show also boasts a Creativity Center on the shopping floor featuring seven different projects you can sit down and make for free all through each day. Many of the show exhibitors also feature “make and take” demonstrations in their booths to showcase new products and techniques, all ranging from free to a few dollars per project. It’s the ultimate try before you buy experience.

Of the three days, Thursday is the least crowded with the best selection to be had. Friday brings out all the hard core shoppers who drop the kids at school to focus on several hours of solo creativity. Saturday is bustling with energy from moms with kids in tow. The kids are welcome to join the fun, but bring lots of snacks and entertainment for your kiddies so you can shift your attention to the fabulous finds. Their stroller and bag policy plus information on the crops and workshops is on their web site at

Scrapbook Expo comes to Southern California two other times a year; two day shows are in San Diego in June and the Inland Empire in October. But it’s the three day Anaheim show that is the biggest draw, with Orange County moms the ideal customer for these exhibitors. Vendors from as far as Massachusetts and Florida, to ones right here in Orange County come to connect with savvy OC crafters, offering information and inspiration.

“Whether you’re a seasoned scrapbooker or are just curious about card making, this show caters to every level of crafter,” says Jennifer Davis, Scrapbook Expo show owner. “There’s something for everyone.”
