Ant-Man and The Wasp Teen Review

I attended a screening as a guest of Disney

When the first Ant-Man movie came out, my brothers and I were so excited for a new Marvel character that we already knew we were going to love it. I watched it for the first time and immediately fell in love with the ant-sized superhero. When I started seeing the previews for Ant-Man and The Wasp I was so excited to see where the old movie left off. There are three reasons why I enjoyed this sequel so much.

Number 1: The movie is so close to reality that it was so easy to understand and fun to watch. Most other superhero movies take place in a completely different setting than the modern world, so it’s effortless to connect with the things that are happening in the film. A majority of the film was shot in San Francisco, and I have been there, so it was really easy to point out places in the movie that I had recognized, especially Lombard Street and Fisherman’s Wharf. Also, Scott (Ant-Man) was on house arrest, and the team was also running from the FBI which made it so much more realistic and relatable.

Number 2: Ant-Man has the most amazing relationships with all the characters. You are either laughing from the squabbling that Dr. Pym and Scott are doing or “aw” ing when Scott and his daughter talk about her future. And don’t even get me started on the outstanding duo that Ant-Man and The Wasp make. Every time they are with each other, they seem to be joking while saving lives at the same time. Ant-Man and The Wasp have definitely been added to my list of “Amazing Dynamic Duos.”

Number 3: I saved the best one for last. The special effects of the movie are sure to make your mind blow. My favorite feature of this movie is all of the special effects used in the Quantum Realm. When you enter the Realm one minute, it’s loud and then the next it is silent. And the colors are truly amazing. Everywhere you look at there are bursts of color and light. I also enjoyed getting that little glimpse into science to see what it might actually be like when you shrink that small. In addition to the Quantum Realm, the scenes where cars and other objects are being enlarged and shrunk is just so cool! It really makes you wonder about all the technology used to film some of the scenes.

If those three reasons are not enough to convince you to go see it, let me give you one more…you will be missing out if you don’t. Ant-Man and The Wasp are the next greatest duo in the history of duos (and you can’t forget Hank Pym.) Ant-man and The Wasp is out in theaters Friday, July 6. Trust me when I say this film will totally have you wanting to see more from the whole cast of the film.
