Apple Turnover Recipe

One of the best Valentine’s Day gift is one that is handmade with love. For Valentine’s Day gifts, me and the kids made heart-shaped apple turnover recipe using the Foodstirs cooking kit. Apple Turnover Recipe

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 Tbl. brown sugar
1/2 tea. salt
12 Tbl. unsalted cold butter
1/3-1/2 cold water
1 egg
3 tea. sparkling sugar
Apple pie jam
Bertolli olive oil spray
popsicle sticks
clear plastic covers/ribbon
heart-shaped cookie cutter
cookie sheet


1. In a bowl mix flour, brown sugar, and salt. Cut the butter into small pieces and add to the bowl. Then add the cold water and mix well with your hands.


2. Cover the dough and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.


3. Roll out the dough and use the cookie cutters to cut out the heart shapes.


4. Spray the cookie sheet with an olive oil spray.


5. Place the hearts on the cookie sheet and put the popsicle stick in the center of the hearts.


6. Add a small amount of apple butter jam.


7. Whisk the egg in a bowl and brush the egg mixture around the edges of the dough, and then top with another heart shape.

8. Use a fork to seal the edges.
9. Brush with egg mixture and sprinkle with sugar.


10. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-22 minutes.
